Condensation in headlight =[

Sup fellas, so my headlight has been getting fogged up since last week and its really getting on my nerves. It seems to happen whenever I drive the car, but when its parked it doesnt fog up. I read a few threads on this topic and there saying I have to bake my headlight and reseal it, but someone else said you can just put some more sealant over the old sealant? Which do you guys think I should do?

Bake and reseal or put more sealant over the old sealant?

I tried to wipe the inside already, but it doesnt do any good. I used a hanger with cloth on the tips... lol I got that idea from one of the threads.

I have the same problem... what i read on this form was to unscrew the cover on the back of the lamp like you were putting a new hid in. Tape a pack of "GEL BALLS or BEEDS" in the lamp. The packets are the ones you find in shoe boxes or in an AMP box .. so moisture doesn't gather. I thaough it was bull shit... so i tried it for myself and it works.

Hi my name is Scott..... and i'v been "moisture free" for about 2 weeks now.... thankyou... thankyou!

yup lol, good luck with that pal, worst, job, EVER

oh and i know i read when some people are blacking out or clearing their headlights, they just put the headlights back in the over and use the same sealent, u might be able to do put the new sealant, mixed with the old sealent, put it all back in the oven so it melts together, and then take it out and let it dry

that should work it worked on one of my headlights and the other condensed. just put new silicone re-heat the old one and press them together, and let them cure. I'm overlaying some silicone on the one that condensed cause I get very little and only when I wash my car.

Yes, i didnt take off all of the old sealant, but i did put the new sealant over it and put it back into the oven for 7 minutes so it melts together. Seemed to do the trick!! Thanks guys for all the little info

The weird screw that you saw is called a security torx. they sell bits in advanced that fit it perfectly.

no need for any security screws etc...get a small flat head (the ones that used to fix glasses)....that works fine....i searched on how to replace my hid lights and figured that out since their were multiple threads on it.

a small enuff phillips flat head will do. just use some force at the diameter of the star screw. it works.

u also dont always have to remove the lights to reseal them.

OK, what is this "gel" stuff you guys speak of, and what do you mean "tape it inside the headlight?"

I am new to these cars, and have a fogged light on mine, too. I have been told to drill a hole somwhere, too. If I just take out the bulb and let it sit, that will clear it out for now?
