CompuStar 2WFM-AS Range

Hi All,

So I got the Compustar 2WFM-AS installed in my car yesterday, and the shop that did it (CUSTOM SOUND in Ann Arbor), did a really bad job, so I don't recommend going to them for any work... but anyway, I was wondering if the calarm-starter thing has a 1/4 mile range, and if I am indoors, and at a window, and I try to turn the car on, and it is around 10 yards away shouldn't it turn on?

I know that it loses some range from indoors, but at a window and around a corner... come on!!!

So the picture is pretty bad.

I'm at the bottom right of the building at the window... the post cut off my spaces.

I know the compustar has an antenna that is suposed to be mounted on the window. Maybe they didn't mount it? Or maybe they mounted it behind the A piller. That will cut the range. My Viper 550ESP has the antenna mounted in the A pillar, & I still get good range, but less then if it was mounted on the window.

I'll take it in today. I'm almost certain they messed something up with the install.

Mine works through concrete walls from 1/8 mile and outdoors mush longer. The antenna should be mounted below the tinted part of the front windshield because it has some coating on it that may interfere with signal transmission.

Mine had good range until it died (last 4-5 months).

Yeah, they messed up on the install. They fixed it today, and it works great... pretty good range.

Thanks All!!!
