Comptech Sways In--WooHoo
Comptech Sways In--WooHoo
Just a quick note to you CL P/S drivers who think the FWD feels kind of nose heavy and slow to respond. GET THE SWAYS!!!! Can't believe the difference: faster turn in, lighter steering, no more "bob & weave". Plus my dealer balanced my aftermarket rims correctly (after tire store f/ups) and this thing is tite!

Sways: the quiet mod that really makes a difference. You'll forget you have them because they're not in your face (or ear) like the CAI is. They really do make the handling feel the way it should be from the factory.

Xenxon,
Go to www.autocarparts.com (Tim's Site). Good price and excellent services based on my experience thus far.
I had my dealer installed the sways and springs, along with an alignment for 350.

I already liked the handling and power with my Toyos and light weight wheels.
I had the luck or misfortune of having 2 people pull in front of me after having the sways installed. I had one of these morons pull a left turn right in front of my bumper at 45 MPH, and had to do a full swerve into the adjacent street (good thing no cars were in the side street). With the sways, I just pulled around with a neat and tidy little slide and catch -- no problemo.
Highly recommended...

The sways are the best mod, I use them everyday to their fullest
I wouldn't mind a cai, but they just make too much noise so I just went with a k&n drop in.
I am still debating the headers, but most of my stints are traffic light to another light or 60, so I am not really in header rpm range. Now a pop-out screen with dvd player, hmmmm

Bought the sways from Tim also..... install was $130 at my dealer, which is a little high - Park Acura price $70!! Still worth it. Car should be like this from factory. Alignment (4 whl) was $89.

A lift makes life 10 times easier ... especially if you have springs lol.... Its pretty difficult to do without one unless you jack the car up on both side.....
Get cracking on that update for me LOL

I am yet to find a dealer who will quote me a sway installation for less than $230. Isn't the cost of everthing just doubled in the bay area? Anyone had a better deal from the dealer or had a reputable independant shop do the job for you? Please let me know. Thanks.

Just bring her into a shop. Its not like typical dealers have anymore experience then mechanics at a reputable shop.
In fact... most dealers are stocked with unexperienced teenagers.
Park Ave Acura charges $75.00 for sway installation. So you should be able to find a independent shop or a dealer who will match that.
Like I said... I dont see how sway installation can be tricky if they have the right equipment.

davo..............regarding Gary Force, they haven't out and out told me that the headers are OK with Acura. Steve (new serv. mgr.) says the new Acura rep is very cool and open minded regarding performance. Steve himself has a supercharged 5.0 Mustang and loves FAST, so I don't anticipate a problem when I decide to do the headers. I know you guys will tell me about the MM Act, but I don't want to have to deal with that. Just give me that good ol' FACTORY WARRANTY!!
I think I am gonna get it next week after I get my car back.
