Comptech supercharger: What's a fair price?

I am now considering selling my Comptech supercharger off my 03 CL-S 6 speed that I am trying to sell! It has been on my car for 6 months and 5900 miles. It runs great, smooth, and quiet. I would like to get as much as I could for it, but would like to price it fairly. What do you guys think it is worth? I have figured that I would need at least $2700 for it (the complete kit), for it to be worth the trouble and expense to remove it. What do you think is a fair market value? Thanks

$3k would be resonable.

$2,700 would seel it fairly quickly though.

I say anything under $3K would be a very good price($2,999 or $2,900, etc ).

Oh man don't tempt me!

I bought kid_dr's icebox. He was awesome to deal with. If anyone is interested I wouldn't hesitate to buy from him. I can't believe you couldn't sell the car with the blower on it for 26k. Probably will be better off selling the parts seperately.

I need to sell my car. I have been hoping to sell it intact with the supercharger and other mods for $26,750 but so far no takers, so I'm trying to make it easier to buy and sell the car. BTW I do not plan to part out the suspension or exhaust mods. They WILL go with the car. Thanks

Thanks for the plug Chad. Just for the record, it's 26.75k.

Thanks to all for your input on pricing. That's right about what I was thinking.

Thanks, I'm sure that you are right about that. I actually have a couple of guys already interested, but to be honest, I'm not really interested in a quick sale at this point. I would still prefer to sell the car as is with the blower in it. It is so sweet, kinda like it was "meant to be this way", you know? I hate to take it apart. I just wanted an idea of what you guys thought was a fair price, and I got it. Thanks for your input.

If anyone knows what all is needed to make this work with an automatic, or can direct us to another thread that answers the question, that would be helpful and appreciated.

If anyone wants to buy my car as it sits with the supercharger still on it, that would be even more appreciated!

Outside of the transmission cooler which is included with the 5AT SC kit there are other items. The fan is changed with the 5AT kit for additional clearance. Also, there TB hook up is also different since the 5AT has the VSA throttle.

There may be more. A call to Comptech would shed additional light on this. I'll look into the installation instructions if I get time later today.

A member here, cartan, got a good deal on an auto S/C for his 6 speed CL-S. I believe it cost him about $100 for a "kit" to change the S/C kit from auto to 6-Speed. Call Comptech.

kid_dr, I thought you were having second thoughts and thinking about selling the Evo instead?

ferizzo - you are correct. I was... I am... I'm confused. Anyway, my 5 year old daughter won't let me sell the Evo, because she now has her own door and a window that will go up and down with a flick of her finger! Anyone with a big fat check and a burning desire for either vehicle would help me out here.

Seriously, I am going to sell the CL-S6 and keep the Evo.

Are you sure about this scalbert? Even on the CT site the Tranny Cooler for the 5A comes separate.

Originally I think it was included, from everything I've seen recently it is now a recomended item, but is not included with the kit.

It may not be based on what I am hearing. Originally I thought they said it would be included. But that is irrelevant of the other needed items

Hey, I'll work with you here. I'd actually prefer to get $4600 for it...tell you what, lets just split the difference, what do you say? If you'll come up about $1800, I'll come down about $1800, and we'll meet in the middle ($2800)!

Actually, I am going to continue for the next 2 or 3 weeks anyway to sell the car with the supercharger on it. Look for it on Ebay (hopefully by tomorrow) with a bunch of new pics. If I do not sell the car within this time period, then I will officially put the charger on the market. Thanks again for everyone's input, help, and interest.

I can buy one brand new for $3,500.00, so I would think $2,500.00 for a used one would be fair, otherwise buy I'd buy it new.

The used S/C should sell quick for $2500. but you could probally get more if you sit on it a while at a higher price.
