SEMA: Comptech SuperCharger and no booth for the mystery mod

so I have the pix... First one back from Vegas hahaha...

So here's the scoop... of what I remember from talking with MikeB from Comptech.

This is still the prototype that they have on the car. It just was installed on this loaner CL-S from a Las Vegas Acura dealer.
It does run because they drove it over from the dealership and it was hella fast.

There were lot of things which need to be modified. A new fuel pump, relocation of the stock battery and replacement, relocation of the intake throttle body, new belts, a new ice box intake, and of course the Roots type supercharger.

Oh and there are three new products for the V6 engine cars: new strut bar, supercharger, ice box intake, and an electronic module with will trick the engine when there is additional boost.

Oh by the way: Mystery Mod I guess the SHO guys found the sketchy Floridian from Rick Case but I sure as hell did not find a booth.

this is the electronic unit which is supposed to fool the ECU when there is extra boost.

What do you mean?
Be grateful that there is one...

I'm sure its a cross application design intended
for Accord/TL/CL
Thats three markets for one. Good deal IMO for Comptech

I spoke to Mike B at the show and the price of the supercharger will definitely be below $4500 (very likely around $4200).

That is a reasonable price for the SC. Now I wish I could have a Acura body kit that matches with it!

more info that I'm remembering

so like I say... This is still a prototype design... The supercharger, icebox intake and all the parts associated are the first cut.

Mike B did not have horsepower specs on the CLS b/c they have not dyno'ed it yet... The Accord V6 will put out an additional 70 hp...

But with the CLS it might be a little less b/c the crappy tranny. Mike B was telling me that the tranmission on the Accord V6 ran really hot and the changed the transmission fluid to Redline and used a tranny cooler to get the temperature pretty constant throughout there initial testing.

The supercharger is not CARB legal yet so Comptech will be spec'ing the car out and then sending it to CARB for certification. I would only expect about 50 hp from this mod in addition to the headers and exhaust.

oh so u can still get headers? should u get the headers first? or after the supercharger, kinda looks like u might have to take off the supercharger to put on headers, then back on the supercharger.... im looking at the warpspeed performance headers due to cheaper price and also i want to get this beast of a supercharger.... Damn it looks great too

WTF

I thought it would be censored or under Comptech contract you have with them that prohibits any pictures taken of your car.

Please post some pics of your car, how does it feel? How much power? do you have a dyno on it yet?
