Comptech Supercharge discontinue!!!

I got a new mini price list from Comptech. On that list it said both the 01-03 CL and 99-03 TL supercharger kit have been discontinue! Maybe that is why we are seeing big discount on those supercharge kit. We should find out how many CL and TL supercharge kits comptech sold.

why discontinue a product when the cars are starting to come off of warranty?

comptech ain't getting much dough off their investment....

which means that competitors can make a lot of dough off of their overpriced misfortune....

Yeah, That's the weird part. The expense is in the R&D, they should just keep making the SC to recoup the r&d costs.

Maybe they figured that they've made thier money off of the ones that they've sold already.

I would think that the aftermarket parts business would start to pick up for the CLS now that more are out of warrenty or have hit the used car market. I would think that more people would be modifing the CLS now that prices on the CLS have dropped.

Wow... That totally sucks.

I wonder what's up with their decision. Perhaps they're just not selling many???

From my conversations with CompTech a few months, most of the 01-03 CLS parts where going to be available for at least 2 more years. Glad I got my S/C last month.

Lets face it. The CL/TL isn't a popular car to mod. Most of the people I know who have gotten one, even the 6 speed have no desire to mod. Comptech can't be selling many supercharger kits. If you had a auto CL/TL would you chance adding a supercharger then have to worry about the tranny's? The supercharger is expensive too when you factor in labor. You can be sure there are many dealers out there who will refuse to work on a superchared car under warranty & will make claimes to not fix the tranny because of it. They are alot of poor saps out there who will take that as gospel. Remember this board or the TL board is only a small % of owners. Now the CL is gone, & there's a new TL out which is very different from the old TL. It sucks for us but Comptech is making the right choice.

You could make a non-intercooled turbo kit at 4-5psi for like $2500 - but a good, reliable kit making power in the 400-450whp range (6-8psi) is ~$6.5K. Now that we have E-manage, fuel/timing control - the limits are endless!

*** I talked with Bob at C/T this AM to order a 2001 CLS Super Charger Kit.. This is totally incorrrect. They are still producing the CLS kit and it is NOT discontinued. He said they discontinued the NON Type S kit that they never released anyway. He said the 2001-2003 CLS is is still being produced and would not be discontinued.

Have no fear people.
I’m sure OBX will be all over this in a few months.

Their SOOPER-CHARJAR will be made from dryer venting, duck tape, a toro leaf blower and a broomstick for the driveshaft.
I know it doesn’t sound impressive, but hey it’s only 999-SHIPPED !!!

That's the word I got from two performance shops, including Jason at Velocity Resources. Oh well!

I also confirmed with Arin at Comptech that the S/C for the CL/TL Type-S models have not been discontinued - ONLY THE NON-TYPE-S S/C. All of the CL/TL Type-S parts will be available for another year or two.

I dont think there selling much, 50hp for 4 grand really isnt worth it in my opinion, Id rather invest that 4gs into a nicer car. Also comptech is overpriced its like buying a sony. you get what u paid for at a premium
