Comptech SC with HBP, supporting mods?

I have a 01 CL-S with 100k on the clock and im considering getting the comptech kit with a hbp, my motor is decently healthy still putting down good numbers on the dyno I just want to know what needs to be done to supercharger a motor with 100k on the clock. Should I upgrade the fuel injectors if im using the HBP? and can I use the stock injectors with the regular pulley?

Im also using a APEXi NEO, will this suffice for tuning? and I know the IMRC needs to be disconnected to use the HBP, but can I leave it connected if I tune the AFR with the NEO? What else should I do besides sea foam/new plugs? what else should be cleaned out or serviced?

I regularly change my oil with royal purple and the ATF is brand new recently flushed using the 3x3 method. I have a VSA delete so if I go through with it ill be getting the 6spd kit from a member down in socal.

Maybe the gurus will chime in but any advice is appreciated

Well your going to want to tune using a more powerful piggyback hardware such as the Greddy Emanage.

As for fuel injectors you can go with the S2K injectors but I have heard of CLS using the stock injectors with theHBP, just have to have a decent FPR setup and kick ass tuning.

Well I don't want to shell out the money for another afc so the NEO will have to do, what about RSX-S injectors? I believe they are 40cc bigger, would those suffice with the HBP?

I know im considering buying his s/c kit also but I have a auto and that harness is for the 6spd. I wanted to just get away using my afc neo... might just have to use the stock boost pulley for now.. any more input?

Its not the safest idea runningthe NEO on a FI setup. Theres no ignition control, nothing... all your relying on is your stock knock sensor system to save you.

Your IMRC will have to be closed since I doubt the transition can be suitably tuned out with the NEO, not knocking the NEO since I ahve one too but just be careful.

Just get a wideband sensor and gauge and do ti yourself then. Set the AFR at 11.5-12.0max I suppose. Have it go from 12.5 down to 11.5 near redline. Thats seems to be a pretty safe way of going at it if you insist upon using the NEO.

Your trying to copare 16 tuning points on the high throttle NEO to a 16x16 table that Greddy offers.

Well from the factory the comptech kit using the stock boost pulley can be used without ANY type of engine management right? ahh im not sure if the extra 40whp is worth 2400 bucks...

It would be worth it to buy engine management, in my opinion, if you are investing in F/I. Tuned you can make more like +70-80 whp.

Well the harness your selling is for the 6spd.. im auto so I don't think it would work. If I did get your kit i'd prob use the stock boost pulley with a simple afc tune.. would need to wait a few monthes before investing in a emanage/injectors and using the hbp because i'll be broke as fuck if I come pick it up heh.

Well you know what Kris is buying my Emanage and Harness, he wants my HBP too, so you could trade him if you buy my kit to get a SBP. I think hes local to you.

the power is worth it, tuned it has more potential then a 3.5 stroker, but then again just look at what TypeR was able to achieve with his 3.5AT.

Sean 04accordcpe went from ~225whp to ~310hp (hubs) on the stock boost pulley, this is on the J30A4 on his J32A3 hes running 328 at the hubs now.

Just do some searching theres power to be made with just 4-5psi. The overall torque increase is what you'll notice the most since you'll have more power everywhere, it'll feel like a larger displacement V6 or a small V8.

About the AFR...FI definitely leans things out (of course) which is why you should tune FI setups towards the rich side. This being said, there is only a certain amount of leniency available for tuning before you have to make more drastic changes. If it were my car I would definitely get better injectors, especially with HBP. You also need to have available features such as timing control and the like not available with the APEXI to maximize tuning. My advice is to sell that and use the money towards Emanage or Unichip. It is a good idea now but essential in the future if you keep modding (which we know you will). How much are you looking to spend for everything? I hate to be the devil's advocate, but there are plenty of people looking for a J32 for their Accords - you could sell your engine and get this...

3.5 swap with S/C, IC, custom injectors, etc...$5000 maybe less
