I could probably get a 14.2 with decent tires in my bone stock 6 speed, let alone with I/H/E

Did they post the entire slip, elevation, weather conditions, etc?

No test criteria was given.

I have a great idea for an article...Scalbert's blown CLS6 vs BlueCLS6/Allmotor's blown CLS6 vs titand19's blown CLS6 (allmotor's orginal creation)! Everything from 1/4 times, slalom, track times....now that would be sweet ass sweet! maybe throw in Type-R's beast as well to compare the NA folks. I can see MattG's car in there also to compare a Spraying CLS. Man, I think I need to go change my shorts again!

And...

They occasionally comment about temps, etc for their project cars and OTHER road tests.. However, the "criteria" sure seemed lacking in this test. I guess “tuna boats” don’t get equal treatment. Perhaps things would have been different if the car had holes drilled in the bottom and had a big C-clamp to squeeze it down to conventional compact car dimensions and weight

IMO, without knowing the temperature, altitude and humidity, the numbers are basically useless.

And here is some comments from the review that might be of interest (seems contradictory):

"Still much of the difference in the quarter-mile time is realized by 60 mph. Our stock CL hit that mark in 6.3 seconds, while the supercharged car did so in six seconds flat."

And:

"More often than not, we ended up spinning the BFG rubber through second gear, which is fun, but not all that quick." (yes, I'd agree with that firm grasp of the obvious).

And:

"So when you roll into the throttle in sixth gear, you suprise the guy two lanes over in the C5 Vette..."

So, OTOH, they are making performance comparisons to the C5 Vette, and on the other, commenting on how they can't get the power to the road.

Maybe they were driving on an ice rink that was melting in 130-degree heat?

It's interesting to find this kind of information, and then find an article on how dyno rollers can give varying results. Kind ‘a like the left-hand (brains) not practicing or caring about what the right-hand (brains) are doing! :P :P

Yep, and...

Was the road surface really lousy?

Were the tires abused and -- as you commented – were the tire pressures messed-up for good traction?

Were the tires so abused from second-gear spinning as to be too hot to stick?
