Comptech mufflers

For those of you that are ordering the Comptech exhaust (mufflers), are the Acura dealers installing them or are you having a muffler shop do the work?

its easy to install yourself...probably should only take you about 20 minutes...there's only two bolts on each muffler and the rubber hanger..very easy to install...dont waste your money at a dealership

Thanks Cl-Super
Do you get new rubber hangers or do you use the OEM ones. If you use the OEM hangers do the Comptech mufflers line up evenly (unlike the stock ones)

Thanks

the comptech mufflers will line up exactly like your stock exhaust system, if not, it will come with all the parts you need to put it on yourself...

Took me 25 min to install. Went on perfect. I am always getting compliments now on the sound.

I heard them for the first time at the NY/NJ meet on Waynes TL-S, and they sound nice!!! The combo of the headers and mufflers make it sound like a V8.

I would like to know how much ya hear from the inside. Is it real loud at highway speeds?

I am thinking of buying them too but I only heard them at Idle and this car also had headers so I don't know if that is affecting the exhaust note.

They say the headers don't increase the exhaust sound much at all, so i'm thinking the mufflers had the effect on the exhaust sound.

The headers don't change the sound hardly at all, and that only on full accel in mid- upper rpms. The nice sound comes from the mufflers- they are not loud on the road at all, you can hear them inside, but it is not disturbing. I was in traffic on Rt80 last night with the window open and had a chance to hear them at low speed and on accel- real sweet from outside! Definately not like the Ricer Integras and Maximas Anyone interested can stop by and I will take them for a ride to check for themselves.

Wayne,
Maybe in the next couple of weeks I'll stop down. I want the exhaust. I just want to hear it first .

Forgive me if I seem cheap, but nearly $700 seems a little steep for mufflers - and the minimal performance gain. I have not modified my car yet, but I think I will first put on a CAI. It seems hard to beat for the money!

I agree, but they did sound SWEET on the TL-S Saturday.

I wish they came in a NON-chrome version for about 250.
Unless you have a show car, I think chrome mufflers are just NUTS.

Your absolutely right, only getting 4-5 hp from them for the 700. But most people do it mostly for the sound as well as the increase in hp, IMO. You also lose your bottom end, but gain in the higher speeds.
