Comptech Intake Installation

Do you really have to remove the front bumber to install this system? I was getting ready to order the parts, then saw the instructs on the website. Anybody out there do this by themselves, or do I need a friend to help?

Is there another sneaky way to install the vent? What about Ingen and AEM? Bumper removal there too?

I think you can just remove the plastic wheel well. Someone should be able to chime in or try a search.

You DO NOT have to remove the bumper. Why CT keeps claiming this I don't know. Do a search, there's a write up on it, or at least an AEM one. The procedure is the same to remove the factory intake.

As others have stated, you just need to remove the retaining clips on teh splash gaurd and bend it back enough for you to get your hands in there. Also, turn the wheels all the way to the left for some more room.

Yep just pull out the front passenger side wheel well. I almost made the same mistake by taking off the bumper till I figured that out

Just did mine last saturday, dont take the bumper off. These guys have it covered. I did mine in ~ 2.5 hours, and I really took my time and made sure I did everything right. The couple piss breaks (I think I drank like 4 wine coolers, yeah stfu they taste good) cost me a couple minutes too. lol

Do a search for icebox install and there are some good DIY install instructions, much better than Comptech's.
