ive been looking around and from what i understand comptech is closing so i wanted to get an icebox air intake for my cl i have a 2001 type s and can only find the ice box for an 03 manual and 01-03 non type s ive looked on ebay and thats where i found those if any one know if you can fit one of those on a 01 type s then i will get one of them. I really wanted an icebox because i would like the power but without the riceburner sound i like a deep throaty exhaust sound.

Listen, you're not going to get a rice sound from an intake, that's an exhaust. Actually an Injen or AEM cold air is going to give you a throatier and deeper sound than an Icebox.

 

Why not just call Comptech directly?

 

Or buy from a vendor that's posted in the FAQ

JuniorBean (www.704motors.com) probably has them, I bought my icebox from him and my 03 headlights. Give him a PM . He is a sponsored vendor.

 

I checked a few vendors this past week and no one has had any in stock (03 CL-S 6spd), nor were they able to order any. I finally found one on ebay and purchased it. They also had a set for an Auto CL that should still be available, btw..

 

I tried to get the one for a CL-S Auto on ebay and they emailed me a few days after and told me they didnt have it anymore, and they have still yet to take it down.

 

ive been trying to contact comptech for over a week now and every time i call i get bussy signals

 

I was wondering the same thing, even on their site their listed for '01-'03 CL non Type S and '03 CL Type S 6 MT. I need one for a CL S auto.

thats not a bad idea for most but i took my resonator off and put the cover and wheel back on and the car made an extremely wierd humming noice which i could not stand so i drilled a few 1/4 holes in the resonator to open up the air flow a bit and put it back on and now the noice is gone

 

i wanna get a comptech intake as well before they close and i also have an 01 cl-s

I didn't see the 6-speed version on eBay right now. Guess I'm gonna stick with my K&N (that I just put in yesterday).
