Well I installed the Comptech headers Wednesday night. Took a little longer than I thought it would but it was fairly straight forward. I wish they would put studs on the collectors. Getting the nuts and bolts on the a-pipe and then holding one side was the hardes part.
You can definitely feel the power difference. Can't get traction in first gear at all. Third gear on the highway is awesome though. One question though. Does anybody hear a whooshing noise as the car enters the vtec range? Seems like normal header noise from what I remember. Anyway they are awesome. I had very high expectations after all of the rave reviews. I wasn't disappointed. The headers are museum quality. So nicely made. Thanks Juniorbean for the dirt cheap price! These headers are awesome.

I miss my headers being on my car, even though I had the OBX's, but nice power gains indeed.

 

Did you use normal hand tools or do you have air tools? I'm waiting for mine to get here and I'm debating if I should try to install them or have the dealer do it. I'm afraid that alot of the bolts will be seized.

 

I used hand tools on the manifold bolta as I don't have an air ratchet yet. I used my new impact wrench on the a-pipe bolts. I don't think it would be a big deal with hand tools though. I've done headers with hand tools before. The bitch is getting those damn bolts in. I made it a lot harder for myself though by torqueing the a-pipe to the cat before I had the bolts on the headers. I forgot the O-rings too so I had to loosen them back up and put those in. Not a terrible job though. The back header seems like it won't fit until you get it just right. It fits in easy from the bottom but it's trickey to get on the studs with a six speed because of where the motor mount is. It goes in easy you just have to bring it in to the studs from just the right direction.
