2 Busted Motor Mounts, & a Leak from the CAT Area

Stopped by good old DMD Acura to chat with my advisor about car issues. Comes to find out I have 2 busted motor mounts, and some type of serious exhaust leak. Funny thing is, I don't have a check engine light on from the exhaust leak(or whatever the problem may be). I can't get it in the shop until next week to find out for sure.

Sad news is, my advisor is moving out of town in the next ~6 months. Fuck, I sure hate to see him go. He would always warranty everything. :'(

Only thing I hate about him leaving is that I knew I could count on him to take care of 'certain failure points' on the CL even with the N20 installed.

My car is loud as fuck right now. Its sounds like I have a ricey fart pipe on my car.

How do you know your motor mounts are bad?

From my experience with broken motor mounts is that I could feel the engine shift slightly from stop and go.

Could bad motor mounts be heard with a clunk noise when I start to stop or go? I should start a new thread, if this isnt the case I will...

I'd hate to see one of my service advisors go, she always takes care of things for me.

its a clunk noise when putting the car into drive. Also, if you push the throttle while looking in the engine bay, the engine rocks back and forth.

You can also examine the motor mounts for cracking / leakage. If I ever get around to it, I'll put up some pics / vids.

I bet my exhaust leak has something to do with the OBX headers. :/

Think of the check engine light as an emissions monitoring system for the government's clean air rules. What I am saying is that any leak before the cat should set a code, but after the cat would probably not. I wish it was called an Emissions Check Light, but if it was no one would go in to get it fixed unless they had to. I am all for clean air, but that is the way things are. Just my 2CW.

Could have something to do with the broken motor mounts too. The flex joint with get trashed if the engine is rocking a lot.

Mantis, when will you learn to trust your own . . I told you I thought it sounded like an exhaust leak and to check the CAT area and those OBX connections.

Let's just hope it's something that can be easily welded.
