Comptech Headers On!

Switched out my AEM to icebox and slapped on some bronzed headers today. (purchase courtesy of dem1k).

A couple of things I noticed:

1. No more hissing and vacuuming from the AEM. The thrashing @ WOT and the hissing/farting will be missed. But it's not a big deal.

2. I... am not realy sure if I can feel the gains of the headers yet O_o. It was installed just today, and I know the ECU takes about three days to reset, but yeah... I'll guess I'll juse wait for it. . My mechanic did do the install with the battery disconnected though... would that make a difference? I did search this, and some people say yes, others say no, others say maybe, others say ibtl

3. My exhuast note is... softer now I think. Is that normal? I have intake, headers, and a catback a'pexi exhaust system.

4. Also, I hear a slight hissing when I pass by trees and buildings. Is that normal? In no way can I pick up the sound when I'm driving normally, only when trees and shit are REALLY close on my right side.

yeah I would give 2-3 days for the gains to really show. It should be a lot quieter now than before. The noise you hear is probably from the intake. Let me know if you really feel a difference from switching headers. I have megan racing headers. loud as hell with my AEM. I have people grinding their gears like crazy thinking I have an insane set up under the hood.

My gains were immediate... the additional flow should be recognized by the ECU right away. Remember, the headers don't show potential gains below 4800rpm.... they scream in VTEC...

I didn't push it too much, I figured I'd wait the 2-3 days before I waste my gas. + Los Angeles traffic, I only had time to hit redline for barely a second then I had to let off. In any case, I'm not sure if I felt a gain or not. The throttle response is definitely better, but yeah.. just waitin' for it.

I've been getting itchy for a new car, so maybe it's time to start modding my CLS instead...

These header threads make it tough to not buy CT headers...

The additional noise is an airy whooshy sound when you pass by trees and buildings, right? It's not as bad as the resonance I heard on kenny's Megans, but it's really slight.

My butt dyno and some guy in a Maxima told me that my gains were pretty much immediate. And there was some change in the sound. I had already switched to teh Icebox, and IMO, I really like the sound of the headers and the Icebox.

Congrats on the headers. Enjoy them.

I forgot to mention. The stock headers are fucking heavy as hell compared to the comptechs.
