Comptech headers and 2003 CL

Does anyone have Comptech headers on a 2003 CL? I'm selling my 2001 and getting a 2003 6spd so I had my Comptech parts removed today. My dealer told me that the headers might not fit on the 2003. Any thoughts?

The only reason they wouldnt fit is if the manual tranny is shaped differently and blocks some area where the CT headers go.

you know what, the headers might not fit because of the lack of VSA on the 6 speed. My intake didn't fit right because of that but i'm not sure about headers, and the exhaust fits fine btw

NOPE......Shawn's too CHEAP.

Jens did a quick glance when he was under my car installing the Springs & Sways.
He said he didn’t see a problem, but wouldn’t know for sure until he actually fit them on a 6-Speed.

Maybe this photo I took that day will help someone who’s familiar with the install.

Mike B. On Comptech is reporting the following:

We are making a header to fit the 6-speed cars. Part #220-042. We just got 5 finished yesterday but won't have any more until early June.

Do you have them? Don't see them in your sig. And judging by what a Comptech employee is saying, you're INCORRECT. Thanks for playing. Try not making such statements unless you actually KNOW, because you could have screwed someone into getting a $1000 item that won't fit on their car. Big hassle and all that.

OH GREAT !!!!!

Custom “fitting” required by Comptech.
I guess they will retail for 1599 now.

If they DON’T fit, I’m glad I didn’t buy the ones from CrazyAcura’s TL.

There is a clearance problem on the rear header bank on the ones for the automatic model. We now offer one for the 6spd models.

Subject: headers for 2003 Acura CL

Hi,

I currently have a 2001 Acura CL-S with Comptech headers installed. I’m selling my car and getting a 2003 CL-S 6spd. My dealership told me that the headers might not fit on the 2003. Is this true, and if so, why? Thanks for your time.
