I have the OBX headers but I feel the power mostly at VTEC range. I had a dyno done before and after and that is pretty much where it shows the extra power as well. Yes, the headers will sound louder than stock. You should get a nice growl when you are in VTEC.

upper RPM band is where the pull is

tach SHOULD b noticeably faster at getting to redline

headers r not supposed to increase noise

So, can you guys with headers really feel a big difference in power when racing someone, or just driving or whatever? Is it like night and day difference, or just a little better feel. Are the headers really worth $1100?

20-30 WHP after 5000rpms is poor man mini Turbo. If you need to feel a nice kick in th butt on a buget get a Nitrous Oxide... ( ZEX wet setup or Venom 1000)

You only feel linear acceleration to the redline and no suffocation at hi-repms. You do not feel a kcik in the butt.

Worth $1100 not sure about that ... now we have 3 more competitors to chose from. OBX, Stone Raicng, and Opak racing (To be released).

Just look at this dyno and see how linear and flat the torque curve is (% to G forces at a given gear)

Adding an airbox should increase the whp up to 40-46 whp. Would this provide a little kick in the pants acceleration?

There is only one option for the six-speeder crowd -- Comptech at ~$1100.

Just trying to keep you honest for the six-speeder owners asking the questions.

I definitely think that my headers are louder than stock...not crazy louder like an CAI is but noticable I would say. I can't compare now since I have the Icebox (which isn't much louder than the stock airbox) but I had just headers for a month or so. Even my fiance' commented that it was louder at WOT. Perhaps we are both crazy or just expected it to be louder so we assume it is? It's possible.

OBX is dirt cheap...Comptech is quality...go for a compromise and look for used Comptechs.

For gains, the CT and OBX are similar it seems. The OBX have a resonance sound at 2500rpm that drives me a little crazy. The CT don't have that problem. Overall, I'd rather have the OBX and $600-$700 in my pocket. The Stone Headers are also inexpensive and don't seem to have the same resonance issues as the OBX. If I could do it all over again, I'd do the Stone Headers. Or if I had $1000 to blow, I'd go with the Comptech.
