Did you purchase them new because I can't find anybody who has them in stock. I beleive they are on backorder from Comptech until late September which means springtime.

Nice nice. Comptech Exhaust is the best for a CL/TL IMO. You got the Axel-back I'm guessing. The low tone it gives off makes it sound mean and flooring it with a CAI (V2) is the best combo unless you've got headers can't beat that.

I'd like someone to post a clip at cruise at 2k rpm from inside so I can hear how bad the drone is that everyone talks about.

I don't think most vid cams will reproduce the low feq. of the exhaust adequately to reflect what it really sounds like. I had a number of in-car vids done by various types of cams and never heard the low feq. of the exhaust. Maybe a high quality external mic inside the car hooked up to a camera would reproduce a more accurate sound.

I notice you have your headers & CAI on before you put on your exhausts. So, beside the exhaust is getting louder, can you feel the power differences?

I also did exhaust last. The Comptech Axleback Exhausts Make NO Noticeable Power Differences

The stock CL type S exhaust is already so high flow that the only difference perceived from adding an aftermarket exhaust, is the sound. A dyno may show 2, or 3 WHP gain MAX. Nothing even worth mentioning.

The only time exhaust will make a difference on a CL-S is with forced induction.

that is EXACTLY why I don't want to get exhaust...it's not worth spending the cash. Plus, I get annoyed of the sound at times. For example, when you're taking a long drive and just want to relax, but you have that damn sound rumbling in the back of your ears. is all that I can think.

But when you're in the mood, exhaust is SO worth it!

The droning issue kind of held me back from it in the beginning .. but when I found a used set close by for 350 I figured it was worth a shot.

I can honestly tell you, I've taken MANY long drives, especially just wanting to relax. It BY FAR is not "rumbling" in the back of your ears. If anything, it is a light, low sound. Honestly, after like a month with the exhaust, you TOTALLY block it out. I don't even hear it anymore. The only time you really would hear it is if you drive with the windows up and radio off. But its not even loud enough to disturb a convo between you and a passenger.

Driving with the radio on, windows down, etc, you dont hear the drone.

Oh and as far as being in the mood .. when you have the exhaust, you get in that mood more often, if that makes any sense. The compliments outweigh the negatives. I've had people tell me that it sounds like a forumula race car, a porsche, etc .. never met someone who didnt like the sound. Even had one chick tell me her favorite thing about my car is the sound ...

I'm so used to controlling the sound via the throttle I can all but eliminate it in most instances. Coupled with the fact that I’m used to it, the droning is a non-issue.

Thats cool Darrin.

I like the look but I dont want any additional sound from the exhaust. I already have a loud car and I appreciate the lack of exhaust noise in my CL.
