The Comptech exhaust looks great, and sounds very intoxicating at full throttle. A little droning at cruising speeds, but the more aggressive sound outweighs the drone annoyance. If you do lots of highway driving however, it might get overwhelming. I don't have the quiet tip inserts, so not sure if that helps the drone or not. Overall, I'm happy with them, and they're not obnoxious looking either.

i thoroughly enjoy my comptech exhaust, but i wouldn't even bother with it unless you get the headers as well (only because the exhaust only adds like 2hp). I definitely love the deep sound of the exhaust and how it is louder, but not loud enough to get obnoxious. I'd recommend them

CT makes the best shit for Acura, period. Great products (we toured their facility here in Cali during a STM meet....awesome)...

And alot of people I know have them with the inserts, the drone is considerably less (almost non-existent)

But with the headers too....get the combo for teh speed

I have the quiet tip inserts, and they get rid of the "drone" at highway speed. Got my axle-backs used, they have been great-

I would get headers first especially since they are about the same price. But the CT's look great and sound better than any other exhaust I have had on other cars.

I'm certin CT increased the sound of their setup over the years. I had an old set on my other CLS. (3 years old) The new ones I have are a ton louder. That drone at mid 2K RPM's is also louder. I almost don't like it. But at least it's a deep sound, & they look good.

I have the full comptech catback and i love the sound.... it drones indeed... but it allows the headers and intake to flow alot easier and you'll feel the full power of your bolton's cause I felt a difference when i added the Bpipe... like i could tell i was getting alot better air flow

nope. we all know there aren't any real noticeable gains from the exhaust due to an already existing free-flow. that's why the Magnaflow exhausts are a pretty damned good deal to some. nice looking tip and muffler size with a deep tone.

I'm not a fan of the magnaflows' stubbiness

You can always fix the droning by inserts or a 22" resonator.

I'm debating to cut the tips off my Neuspeeds and just add some bolder looking magnaflows....

Mine are not chipped. Then again, I haven't driven the car in almost 5 months. We will have to wait and see.

As noted above, I found CT's quiet tip inserts canceled the annoying drone.

Switched back to stock and noticed just how much louder the CT axle back exhaust is ... not offensive in any way with the tips, but noticeably louder. I wouldn't hesitate to add them again.

You can always fix the drone by getting a six speed.

I noticed my drone almost totally dissapeared when I went from 5AT to 6MT (same exhaust), but the rpms are a little higher at cruising speed.

Most of us do the exhaust for the sound and looks... not the performance, as realistically there are no performance gains over stock. The commonly quoted 2 HP gains are less than the dyno measurement error range.

If you want performance... get the headers and intake. If you want the sound, get the exhaust.

Alright, here's a question. I bent my b-pipe backing into a curb, nearly pinched it. Both in front and behind the middle muffler the pipe is bent and the damn thing turned sideways a bit. Granted I was a little pissed, but then that sarcastic voice in my head says, "damn, guess I have to get an aftermarket exhaust now." NOW, I Was thinking instead of getting a whole catback system, salvaging the stock mufflers and getting say the comptech b-pipe or some other brand. Any one have suggestions?

The CT mufflers look and sound GREAT. If you do it, do it for the looks and the sound. Performance gains are non existent.

I'm not looking for performance because I know it won't do crap. But the stock exhaust doesn't have enough growl for me.....and it needs replacing, well the middle section does anyway

If you are looking for a deeper sound, you will definately get that. However, it is not "in your face" loud. You can get an idea of the sound on the comptech site... they have an audio clip of a CLS with CT exhaust. The other exhaust that guys use is the Greddy Evo... quite a lot bigger can. Not my personal taste, but some guys like it.

I have Magnaflows on my CLS 6spd and it has a nice tone to it. I just didn't like the how you can see so much muffler on the Comptech.
