Comptech discontinuing CL Support?

Was told by my Acura parts dealer that Comptech told him that they made their last production of CLS springs since the car is discontinued. It's taken over 2 weeks to get mine, said they had to make some.
Aren't these used on other cars too, like the Accord coupes?
Wonder if other Comptech CL parts will be discontinued too?

NOPE!!!

They WERE going to make a blower for the CL-P, but scratched the idea due to no power gains.

They ARE going to be making parts for the car until people quit buying them.

No worries---Comptech will still be making parts for these cars.

I remember someone here saying Comptech was no longer making superchargers for the CL. That was also untrue. Nice to see Dean clarify for us here.

That's what a major Acura parts dept in Atlanta told me. He called Comptech cause my order was not arrived and they said this is the last batch of springs for the discontinued CL.
That I was lucky to get an order in before it's too late. This is a week or more After I had already paid and ordered.

I can not see why they would D/C making the parts, as long as the cars are still around, and this site remains, there will always be the Acura CL Enthusiast, who are mod willing.

Acura Carland, a very reputable and knowledgeable parts seller, and cheap too. I'm just repeating what Comptech told him.
Their internet prices are good and they post them on the web for all Acuras.

Yes, I know the place; over in Gwinnett County off Satellite Blvd (about thirty minutes from my house). However, I can't say they are overly knowledgeable. They may be cheap though.

IMO and considering the market. It is when the cars are no longer under warranty is when the majority of the aftermarket sales come in. It is irrelevant to the CL being discontinued to producing parts as more used car owners would buy them. The platform is shared with the TL. I would have to assume Comptech’s marketing people also know this.

They might not actively pursue new products, but will have to support existing products.

i would think that more shit would come out now, since more enthuisiasts will be getting them pre-owned.

With the decline in sales from 2001 to 2003 and considering the 'typical' population of 2001-2003 CL/TL owners who mod their cars and considering a fairly decent number of upgrades already available... I think Comptech is making the correct decision.

Well considering these springs are used by not only the '01-03 CL (both CL-P and CL-S), but the '99-'03 TL (both TL-P and TL-S), *and* the much more popular '98-'02 Honda Accord v6, I'd have to say BS. Comptech still has a huge market of cars out on the road if you include the CL/TL/Accordv6 all together.

Considering Comptech is currently discontuing items made for the '95-97 Accord v6 and the '95-97 CL 2.0/3.0 I doubt they're in a rush to discontinue parts for a fairly new car.

weird I always thought the AV6 springs and CL springs were different, cause the CL is heavier. They must not drop the Accord much at all...

*shrug* ... On Comptech's website it says the part number for the Accord v6 / TL / CL is 110-135 ... And on all of the text for the springs it says it drops the car 1.25" front / 1.0" rear ... Not sure if thats what the actual numbers are for all of the cars or not though.
