Comptech Clutch and Flywheel are in.

Got the car back from the dealer today after they replaced my rear main seal and installed my Comptech Clutch and lightweight Flywheel.

I love the feel of the Clutch. So much easier to match RPM on shifts. I'm going to take it easy on this thing until it gets some miles to settle in a bit. Can't wait to run it through the paces once it's broken in.

Wish me luck. I hope I'm one that will fall into the satisfied trouble free group.

Thanks Steve. I wasn't planning the clutch but it sure worked out dropping it in while they were replacing the rear seal.

Nearest track is a couple of hours away and I'd like to give it a try. Never ran a formal 1/4 mile. Done a lot of street racing in my day though.

Not sure what's next on the mods.

Thanks Chopper. I'm staying with the stock crank pully. I'm hoping the previous failures were related to going with a lightweight crank pully in addtion to the lightweight Comptech flywheel. Taking off 18lbs of dampening on the flywheel is quite a bit already.

Keep up updated on this as you put some miles on it. I've got only 30K miles on my 6spd, but I know that somewhere down the line, I'll have to replace the clutch. It will be nice to know that the CT stuff is viable option to a oem replacement.

I remember seeing a thread over a year ago about problems with the Comptech clutch. I'm not really sure if anyone has experienced the same problems. Here's a link to that thread, it's pretty long.

I think you'll have no problem with that setup. We all know the horror story allmotor had. Just don't use the ur pully since that seems to be the culprit and don't dump the clutch with slicks on a sticky launch pad at the drag strip. 12000 gear smashing miles on mine and no problems at all.

allout, I will get the rods ready to ship this week, are you still interested?

Brilliant design there. Do they also make an air conditioner upgrade that doesn't like hot weather?

They have a few available but they still are not on their website, just give them a call. Oh, its only a few dollars over $1000.

Congrats... Just in time for the Twisties in a couple of weeks... When it comes to replacing the OEM clutch, I'll probably go with the CT clutch/flywheel. I've got nearly 42k miles on the OEM clutch and it is just starting to feel a little funny off the line at times. Hopefully, it will last another 20k miles before it needs replacing.
