Comptech B-Pipe Installed

Put the B-pipe on this past Saturday and just now getting a chance to post a quick review. In short I LOVE IT. Awesome sound. Not much louder at all than the comptech axle backs. It is a bit deeper and smoother sounding. The really great part that is a bonus is that the droning has been greatly reduced at low rpm. There is no down-side to this exhaust! I don't really feel any power increase but with the minimal gain that would only show up at the track or on the dyno. Car seems to idle a little smoother if anything. Install took me about 2 hours taking my time. It was really straight forward.

Probably in the next few weeks. I am waiting for a cool day but there are probably not many more of those left.

Its sits lower in the back than the stock exhaust which surprised me. The pipe going to the driver side muffler hangs down much lower than stock.

I had the B-pipe on with the stock 03 exhausts and the car was really quite till the supercharger boosted...sounded like a Jet engine taking off..

Just installed the Comptech mufflers today and the car has really came alive now.. Idle is different, throttle response is different and the car sounds so alive now.....

I like it...

Is the b-pipe one long piece or two short pieces that you connect(similar to the GReddy EVO)?

The droning is less? I thought it made it more pronounced?

Thats the impression i got after hearing a CL w/ just the CT exhausts on compared to mine with the b-pipe combo and exhaust.

I installed both at the same time so i was never really able to get a good impression of the sound with the b-pipe off and then on.

Congrats...

I'm surprised that the droning was reduced on your 5AT. On my 6MT, it not only increased in volume, but also in range in the lower RPMs. But I've gotten use to it. I tried the CT Quiet Inserts, but they cut out the awsome exhaust note when I really got on it.

I found the car much more drivable throughout the entire RPM range; even before I had the S/C installed.

BTW- is this your next mod? That's where you will see a little more WHP gain from the b-pipe.

I didn't see that you already had the S/C listed in your signature

The droning is much less. Overall the exhaust is a little louder but I think it sounds perfect. The fact that the droning has been reduced just makes it so much more tolerable, especially on the highway.

less droning at low rpm, more growl in the upper rpm band. Does this help?
