comptech b-pipe

Just wanted to ask if anyone knows if the comptech b-pipe for the 01-03 tl fits the 01-03 cl or is it a different part? I tried emailing comptech but havnt gotten a reply. Hard to find info on this since item is discontinued.

If I recall it's different between the TL and CL version of the B Pipe. I'm pretty sure the CL is shorter.

I have a tl b pipe on my cl. I had to cut about 2" to make it fit. Otherwise everything else is the same.

ah thats what i was thinking the tl would be longer since cl mufflers on the tl are 1-2 inches shorter than tl are. Did u just cut 2 inches from the straight section and reweld it?

The competch b-pipe is bigger in diameter than the stock pipe so allows more air flow which benefits your exhaust. It's a plus if u have intake headers and exhaust and or high flow cat. Comptech doesn't make it anymore. U can only get used.

There's a bend right after the cat so I cut mine about 4" from the cat flange. There's also a bend right after the resonator and the car has a heat shield right above it. It's a tight fit and if you don't cut the TL pipe, it'll hit the heat shield.

I put the TL pipe on with the mufflers and put the whole thing on the rubber hangers. Then I was able to hold the pipe up to the cat flange and measure how much to cut out.

I didn't notice any power gains but while I was cleaning it, I ended up polishing it. So the looks alone was worth it. I wouldn't do it just for power gains.

its not suppposed to be a power gainer. it better helps air flow for your exhaust system because of the larger diameter piping.

lol thats what i mean. their thinking the pipe itself gains you power. it more so frees up power.

cant wait to put mine on.
but yeah for a otherwise stock motor (even with boltons), it will not do much, but if you are FI, strokin, or sprayin then yeah it will more then likely help you put more power down to the ground (freeing or producing the power )

i thought you already had it in

Not sure if anyone has ever tested before and after but potentially, you could lose a bit of low end torque on an NA motor.
