Compressor is squealing

When it's really hot here (100+) my compressor makes a squealing noise right when the auto AC comes on. Lasts maybe a few seconds.

Houston, do we have a problem? Or should i just ignore it? Thanks!

I just posted a response to the other guy asking this same question, unfortunately its normal. By squealing do you mean hissing?

No, it's not a hiss, and it only happens right when the car is started. I guess it's not really all out squeal, but like a medium-pitched sound/vibration. Only last a few seconds like i said, but it's not a pleasant sound. Anyway, it only seems to happen when it's hell-fire hot out. So i'm not too concerned.

Sounds like the a/c compressor belt needs to be tightened or replaced.

I have been working ona very similar issues on my car for over one year now. They have replaced the a/c compressor, the altanator, the belt tensioner, and many other componets and the sound is still there. Good luck trying to get this one figured out. If they find a solution please let me know!!!

It looks like my squeel/squeek was the belt tensioner. It did it every time the ac cycled and sounded like a vacume leak inside the car.
