1. Wrong section

2. This has been covered many times, if you search you will pull up quite a bit of info in regards to headers

now to make my post informative...

3. Comptech is the best brand of headers available for us, but, they are quite expensive. Headers yield a good size power gain for us, well worth it.

4. you can look into XS headers as well... cheap and effective

oh and welcome to the forums!

I would like to purchase those but would like to get some feedback on them.. i know you get what you pay for but sometimes it can be just as good as more expensive aftermarket headers. IE like the XS headers, but they are not making them at the moment.

Our FAQ is here....
https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-cl-2001-2003-50/%2A%2A%2A-official-2nd-gen-cl-information-thread-%2A%2A%2A-480087/
There are several threads on headers you can read through.

At this point in time however I only know of Comptech making headers that fit a 6MT CLS. XS made them as well, but as stated they seem to have stopped making them. Auto headers do not fit a 6MT which makes CT the only game in town right now for 6MT cars.

There are alot of threads on headers but no treads on those headerys that are all over ebay..
These are $89.99 + $30.00 shipping..

These are $58.90 + $42.00 shipping..

These are $79.99 + $39.99 shipping..

They all have 2 flex pipes, and the flex pipe is where all the noise comes from on the XS headers, So I am a little wearey buying CHEAP headers with 2 flex pipes, Does anyone have any of these headers on there CL-S or TL-S or even Accord that can provide some feedback?

If I can't find some XS headers soon im gonna order one of these, do they all look the same to u guys?

Yes but look at those Ebay headers. ALL are auto only fitments. No rear header pipe bend for the motor mount on 6MT CL's.
This is what a 6MT rear header should look like..........

Unless you wanna sell them for $200 and let me pick them up from u , I cant afford them.. I only plan i keeping my car anouther year or two (only becuse I needed shocks and got a whole B&G suspention setup) and progress RSB , so I dont wanna put $400-$500 more into it. I just want some cheap headers that will last a year or so to get my HP up with my handling!

Don't ALL Headers for CL's just give the same amount of power?

Don't all Headers for CL's just give the same amount of power? I'm going to buy Headers soon for my 03 CL-S 6-Speed and am NOT going to spend $1,100 on Comptechs. I am going to buy XS or Megan Headers for $200-$300. HERES THE QUESTION, I am thinking that XS or Megan will give me the same amount of power as Comptechs will, they might not look as nice or last as long as Comptechs but WON'T THEY GIVE ME THE SAME AMOUNT OF POWER? They ARE just PIPES that do the SAME thing?

They might give a little less, from what I read they are all comptech knock-off's so it's close, Its deff not $800 less of power.. if comptech where the best at 100% im thinking the others do 75-80%..
Good luck finding xs headers i have been looking for xs for A/T for months cant imagine finding them for the 6 speed!

But...

Comptech are the only sets that are 50 state legal.

this is where i got mine. the only problems that i have heard of for these headers and down pipe are that the flex pipe leaks. i put some exhaust wrap on it, then painted it with a high temp exhaust paint and havent had any problems at all. just throwin that in there.

Quality of product comes into play... i know some have had problems with leaks from poor welds and had to reweld their XS headers or ss autochromes. Not that big of a problem take it back to a competent shop and have them reinforce and weld problem areas and your good to go. I believe no one has had problems with comptech's. A couple flex pipe issues I believe.

Comptechs will last you forever that's for sure or at least as long as you own the car... Tail light tints can be purchased from rockblocker. Depends on the theme your going for... I'm still debating a CF hood and trunk and I def need to get some new shoes... After this thread no more headers threads bro! LOL ... you'll find a wealth of info on azine don't be afraid to flex that search button.

Carbon Fiber would look SICK on your car! Gray with Carbon Fiber is the best combo! As far as rims go, These Motegi DB6's would match the color of your car and go perfect with it:

Comptech knock-offs:
resonance
poor welds that eventually crack
fitment issues - leaks

Yeah Comptechs are not cheap but they will last you forever. When you decide to sell your car, you can recoup a nice chunk of the money you paid for them.

Some of us dont plan on keeping our cars Forever , just anouther year or so , and we want to make it interesting for that year or so!
After I sell it I dont car if the welds crack or leak, I will give the seller my stock headers just in case!

Why bother with Comptech unless you have to have smog cert. Even if you have to pay $50 to have your XSPower headers re-welded you're still hundreds less then Comptech.

Comptechs are the ONLY option right now for the 6spd...

XSpower (ssautochrome) aren't being made now...

DC sports are auto only...

and the ones on ebay with 2 flex pipes haven't gotten good reviews here...

You could look for used comptechs or XS power headers...
