i had the same problem with my camry where while warming up the car wen its cold or driving w/o warming it up in the cold and gasing it would make the car nearly stall or sometimes even just flat out stall. my frend told me it could be more than one thing causing it but he told me it usually happens wen u dont get a oil change frequently as you should which or it could be something wit your timing belt. but theres still a lot of other possibilities. we still didnt get the camry yet and it seeemd to get worse and worse.

socalicls, from a previous post re: your symtoms... [QUOTE ctechcls, allmotor is correct, part of startup "warmup " proceedure. the engine is ingesting cool/moist air during the first few minutes. the air entering the TB is warmed thru the engine coolant temperature during this process. also the fuel is cool. this cool air/fuel "charge" is quite "fuel rich" and combustion is slowed and not particularly powerfull. once the TB is up to operational temp, much more thourough combustion takes place thus more power and smoother running begins. i would surmise that under these same conditions the warming effect of the engine upon the throttle linkage "frees up" the cable linkage to being more responsive. (note vehicles in thecolder/moister climates experiance more of these symptoms than say in phoenix)]

socalicls, and another posting......
[QUOTEas to , how to clean corrosion from the TB. loosen/remove the clamp and the rubber hose leading to the TB. now the round butterfly valve plate is visible . clean the TB bore and both sides of the plate w/ carb cleaner, reconnect then lube the throttle linkage and pedel linkages as noted above.]
