Coin Tray Help?

ok guys, i think i've lost it. the coin tray is over-full, and therefore dropping change into the console on every bump. how do i take it out. the owners manual tells me how to open it, but i can't figure out how to remove it, and there is a bunch of change back there (i can see it on top of the OBD, and i'm really afraid things will start shorting out. ) thanks for any advice

I tried to "just pop it out," but stopped before I broke something. I've still got chagne back there.

i had the same problem a week ago. i ended up removing that panel thing that covers the diagnostic port. that gave me easier access to the two loose quarters. it was still tough to get them out. it took me an hour or so.

You have to remove the console to get to all of the change. It is a real pain in the butt. The top piece of the coin box fell off of mine, so all the change ended up under the console on the hump under the dash.

I hear you, I hardly use the "not an ashtray" at all. When I do use it, I make sure to take the little bit of change I have in there when I get out.

1) It does pop out- you can't break anything important.
2) Go to Acura Carland website, buy the real ashtray- fits better.
3) If you really want your change back, do a seach for console removal. There are some good web site instructions. It's not really that hard.
4) Take up smoking so you won't put coins in there.

Got to remove the console to get to all the change. I don't bother, because I may need the coins to pay for the future higher gas prices!

did all those coins back there cause your "coin tray" to not close all the way? because i have that problem right now, it won't close completely and it's freakin annoying...

I had the same problem, and this solution worked great:
