My coin hold does the same thing and sometimes it hard to open. I'll probably go asked the dealer about it when I get my 15K service for free.

Give the thing a good shot from the driver's side a few times, that should do it. worked for me

I've had this happen twice. It's caused by a coin getting lodged up behind the tray. The stupid tray isn't meant to hold but about 10 coins! The first time it was a quarter. Had to force it open. Got the quarter out of there, but it fell down in to the console. G'bye! Second one was a nickle. Had to force it open as well. Got the nickle all the way out, but now the coin holder squeaks and doesn't open and close that smoothely. I've just started putting coins in the armrest compartments.

Ok, so the damned tray obviously is "Not An Ashtray", too small for cell phones, and not very useful for holding coins. So what IS it good for??

If the coinholder is what I think it is, holding the ashtray insert. Pretty expensive ashtray, I might add.

Just like it came from the dealer (except an ashtray)

I remember others talking about this last month and I'm quite sure they had it fixed at their dealers (a modification to the holder that prevents coins from getting out the back?)..

go to the dealer and ask for a new coin holder "not an astry" I have one and I have about 7 dollars in toll change and no problem. I know AC from the TL fourm had the same problem and when he went to the dealer I think they fixed it for him. Also I remember someone couple months mentioning that acura changed the design on the coin holder to fix this problem.
