Cocoa vs stock Evo 8
Well, I was out in Cali this past week, and finally had a chance to run a stock Evo 8. It was my best friend's cousin's car. Although the outcome seemed very odd, I'll let you guys/gals know how it went down. (These races were WITHOUT n2o)
We went from a 3rd gear roll roughly around 65mph. I gave him the jump every time, and the outcome was the same every time. As we took off, I pulled and beat him by literally 4-5 cars 3/4's of the way through 4th gear. Again, the outcome was the same everytime. We were all under the impression that something was wrong with his car. I got a ride in it just to see how it felt (3 of my friend's own Evo's, so I have a feel for what they feel stock), and to be honest, it felt pretty normal.
BUT, it did have a BOV, and based on what my other friends told me, Evo 8's usually have issues with running shitty with aftermarket BOV's unless it's tuned. For whatever reason, the ECU doesn't like it. So, that is our only guess as to why the loss was so dramatic.
The reason why I wouldn't believe the car would win by that much, is because my other friend is an Evo 8, that was pushing 300whp, I beat by a bumper (I lost roughly another 100 lbs since then, and took out the power steering pump and acc, and relooped the rack). But his mods were fairly small mods (he's now running 345whp tuned with cams, but his car was in a fender bender, so it was in the shop. Didn't have a chance to run him with his current set up). So unless there is a 4-5 car difference between a slightly modded Evo 8, and a stock Evo 8, I will not believe the outcome is accurate. But then again, who knows what I really run...

when i drove ur car in the lot... i had the worlds biggest smile on my face!! all that power under my feet! i was like a kid at a toy store!
when ur friend with the evo gets his car outta the shop.. make sure u get that run on video!

damn sounds like your car is a beat! im not too familiar with your cars mods. but from your sig it looks like you just have an N/A 3.5L engine and some bolt ons?

oh and that video rite there was just a quik shot of ur car flying around the parking lot.. i wish i got ur car when it was being floored a lot more. but u can see how fast it takes off just by bleeping the gas pedal
