Coating headers

Any thoughts on coating the exhaust headers? Just got a set of XS headers and want to make sure I don't miss any work prior to install.

I have read some talk about thermal coats, but to me it seem that although they would keep some heat away from the engine bay, they would also cause the headers to expand more. Undesired expansion and possible fittiment issues = leaks.

i have comptech headers with the jet hot coating on my CL for quite a while. excellent way to keep the headers in pristine condition and to dissipate heat. no discoloration at all. no fitment issues with the headers, at least for comptech. there's some feedback about xs headers in the forum if you search.

Had mine coated a while back before I sold them. Got the sterling silver coating. It discolored a littel to the point where the shine dulled down, to a gray.

Helped a little I suppose, but it was a while back.
