Clutch lifetime
Just wondering, Im original owner of 2003 SMR 6speed with about 88K. Any experience/ideas on how long the clutch is likely to last? My driving is about 60/40 hwy/city.

ive got similar mileage and driving and im similar mileage and mine is still holding strong. I typically get 150k out of my honda clutches, not sure what the CL clutch will get me.

Big question mark. It's going to vary with driving. I've had clutch go at 80K on some cars & others go past 150K. I would think the CL clutch would be no different.
It's a wear item like tires & brakes.
If it seems fine then it's fine, worry about it when it does go.

Good to know - the dealer told me it would last 100,000km (~60,000 miles). I'm about there now and figured I'd be forking out for a new clutch soon. Mine is rock solid at the moment.

what types of symptoms should we look for? Mine has been shuttering right before it catches the gear... its not like its slipping, just feels very jerky. I have never noticed this before, and Im not driving it any differently.

Has anyone around been pleased with any aftermarket clutch kits. My gf's car is an 03 CL-S with 76k on the clock and the clutch is slipping badly. I'm not sure whether we should go aftermarket or OE. I think 76k is kind of pathetic, but we got the car used (around 35k) and the car was in San Francisco for 11 months.

For those who have done this clutch upgrade.

replacing my clutch as we speak at 67K ... Figured it would last me longer but I can only account for the mileage I've put on it and I bought mine at 45K so I am unaware of the previous owners driving habits. In any case at 67K I'm doing my clutch

it seems clutchmaster's is the only real option to go aftermarket. I believe SIRSIG and a couple other's are running it, in any case I went OEM and just bypassed my clucth damper and it should be good enough to handle the power it produces unless I decide to further mode and take a dive from N/A to the boost world. I figured OEM should last me until I'm ready to part with my CL or retire it to use as a beater car and get either a 335 or a G37.

Whats up with RDX owners?

From what I hear the CM clutch is pretty good, but there arent any long term verdicts for it as of yet. I plan on running it once it's time to replace.

does anyone know if the exedy clutch will work from a 04-06 tl 6 speed? and which flywheel will go with it or else im just gonna run the luk clutch kit with the flywheel. If i remember right there are people on here running the j32a3 6 speed tranny. So does this mean it will fit? still need to figure out which route to go on the flywheel.

Not quite sure what flywheel you should use. Ive used Exedy clutches before on my Civic. I didn't have any problems. But Im not sure if an OE replacement would be any good. Personally Id have to go with a stronger clutch.

ill probably get a stronger clutch later on but who knows what if this grips better then the oem? I dont think anybody has tried it yet. i just need a new clutch lets see how this puts up first. then probably clutch masters. the guy i spoke with from gripforce doesnt even know but he said if its an oem flywheel and oem clutch it should work.

Still on my orig clutch which im just rolling past 202'000km on it. No sign yet of it failing, but, knowing my luck I probably just jinxed myself.
