cluster display went out intermittently. Thoughts?

cluster display went out intermittently. Thoughts?
Last night, the cluster display which shows milage, outside temp. and trip meter went out intermittently. It started last night and I haven't messed in that area.
Does anyone know what caused it?

I had this happen to me during a one hour period 6 months ago on my way to work. Have no clue what happened. Car was fine when I drove it home, and ever since. Just decided to freak out that one morning
