Unhappy Clunking noise?!?!?

My 01 cl just started making a clunking noise...seems to be coming from the front end suspension...when I accelerate it doesn't do it and when I'm on the brake it also goes away...only does it when the car is slowing down on its own...only when I let off the accelerator and it speeds up and slows down depending on my speed...sounds like a cv joint but it doesn't make the noise when I go around a corner...please help anyone

My car was making a ton of clunking noises from the front also about a year ago to the point where it sounded like a big POS.. I changed out everything Shocks/springs/Sway bar links/sway bar bushings and all the noise went away.. Like a new car AGAIN...
Did u ever change your shocks?
I think most the noise was comming from the shocks they where all DONE they where drenched in fluid, If u still have your OEM shocks it might be them OR the bushings that hold the front sway bar.. Well i changed the bushings first and still made the noise but tried that first cuz it was the cheaper fix then did shocks and Moog sway bar links and ALL the clunking noise went away!

Just to give you a idea what u r looking at...
The shocks 100% have to get replaced if u search u prob can find some decent shocks for $300 u can use the same springs (I changed my springs w/shocks cuz wanted the car to handle better and lower it 1-2 " ) I got a set Shocks and springs for around $450 (B&G) you can buy OEM bushings at the DLR for likr $10-$20 or go get some polyurethane ones for $20-$30. The sway bar links are like $20-$25 each I got MOOG cuz they r 2x bigger and have greasable fittings got all 4 at rock auto for $85.
If you do that I garentee the noises will go away and the car will drive 2-3X better u do not realize how bad your shocks are cuz they gradually go bad they dont just go bad overnight so u dont realize how bad your shocks are!
