Most Americans are bad spellers. It does not mean that they don't know about cars or didn't graduate college. Look how many people mix up the words lose and loose etc.

How much does it cost to ship a car across US? I'm looking to buy a CLS6 to gut for my TL.

It looks salvaged. Rear quarter panel, rear bumper, front bumper, all look like they were repainted.

I had my CLS shipped from central FL to Colorado Springs and IIRC it was between $800 and $900. That was with the dealer taking it to them (I think the drop off for them was near by) and having it delivered to my house.

Also IIRC the gas prices were about the same then as they are now. So it should still be close. Although Phoenix is a little further, and it is cheaper if you pick it up at the dock. The dock station for the semi to drop off the car was in Denver so I pain the extra to have it brought down to the Springs on a flat bed.

Try DAS http://www.dasautoshippers.com/ That's who I used.

I just spoke with him on the phone. he pretty much said that it is mechanically sound and a clean title, but has cosmetic issues, and that he'll email me pictures. He said a cigarette burn on the seat, nicks in the pillar, cracked windshield, and a missing console piece?

Depending on how the pictures look, I still may give it a shot. My family is from Norfolk, so the drive isn't really a problem for me.

All of that looks like it can be fixed pretty easily, but I understand why your staying away from it. Who knows what else could be wrong with it that's hidden or not mentioned....

Exactly. It's not to much the damage in the pictures, but what they imply.

If I never gave a shit about my car for 10 years, I don't think it would ever get that bad. That's just.... awful.

That made me chuckle. That POS makes me cringe. But it also makes me appreciate my 8 year old anthracite CL a bit more.

The funny part is that after the guy sent me those pictures, I just decided to make no more communication. Then about a day or two later he sent me more pics. Then a bit after that, a text asking if I got the pictures.
Someone's desperate!

03_Type_S.. those wheels kill it! There is a 99-01 TL in town that has similar wheels, and it looks :ghey:
The dealer has probably been test driving it only going into 5th gear. Or maybe they just have "manual" written on their papers and it got entered into the computer as "5 speed".

That's just disgusting. That poor Anthracite CL... On a less nauseating note, there's a decent white CLS6 on WashingtonDC.CraigsList going for $7500 with 100k and two owners.
