CLS vs. G35C , 350Z , GMC Jimmy , GT 4.6L w/ mods

a night at the tracks.

75 degree weather. 50% humidity.

G35C : stock 6 speed w/ the golden Brembos. beat him twice. Really bad the first time. I think the guy bogged a bit on the launch. Beat him by a good 3 car lengths. We both ran 2.3 60 fts that time. It was :ghey:

On the second run it was REALLY close. In my 2nd gear he was pulling just a tad but once I hit 3rd gear I regained my few inches lead. I was so busy looking over that I hit the rev-limiter in 3rd gear. I inched him out by a little over a bumper.

350Z: I expected to lose this race going into it. I just wanted to see how many lengths I might lose by. This race was almost identical to the race against the G35C, the 2nd on that is. Beat by a bumper.

GMC Jimmy: Old old early 90s model. This was my first run of the night. It was brown and rusted on the passenger side rear 1/4 panel. I was like "WTF is this car doing on the track?" When we rolled up to the waiting area I saw him put on his helmet. I knew I was f*cked. I dont' think I could make out his taillights during that race. By the time I got down to the 1/8th I could barely see his tails. He ran a 12.6.

Mustang GT 4.6L w/ Intake/Exhausts/Shifter : I'm not sure exactly what shifter means but probably short shifter. I asked the guy what he had and that's exactly what he told me. Before we got up to the line he was talkin' all this shit about how he runs 14s flat all the time and blah blah blah. I told him my best of the night yet this far was a 14.3. I saw him grimace at that comment. We got similar launches and then I just left his fat ass behind. Probably beat this fool by 2-3 car lengths. oWned !!!~

Anyways there was also this IS300 with a supercharger. Vortec. He claiemd to be putting down 270 at the wheels but was bitching about some issue he had with the rev limiter and the clutch staying in if he pushed it too hard. It was mechanical measure of some sort that cause the clutch to stay in if it felt he was launching too high. Anyways, he dind't run any faster than I did all night. His best was a 14.6. I don't really know what's up with my launches but that's for a different thread.

Best for the night was 14.3 @ 98. 2.2 60ft. I know, I suck... Once t gets a bit cooler I'll try again.

EDIT: I have a 6MT with I/H/E and running a on 225/45/17 Potenza S03s. That should further accentuate how gay my damn time is. Also, the 350Z was a non golden brembo model but still a 6 speed.

omg that's hilarious Something similar happened to me at Summit CS nationals.. I'm pulling in to the parking lot and these "kids" pull up in some POS looking thing, idles terrible, smoke coming out the back, etc. I was laughing w/my friend "what a POS".

Well, that POS ran mid 12's. I was like OMG, W T F?!

Damn better then my first time at the track. There was also this older chevy SUV with huge ass tires on it. I think they were 44" POS body, gutted he was running 13.4's all night. He had a blown big block.

sounds like a good time. any mods on your CLS? Was the Z a six speed? Any mods on the g35 or Z? I figured a 6mt CLS would be a fairly close race with a Z. Guess this confirms it.

Shouldnt you be a little higher than 98mph? I was running low 96-97 (ok, 96.98) mph last time at the track depending on whether I spun or bogged, and I'm bone stock. I couldn't get into the 2.2 60's, but the track prep wasnt great and I'm on stock tires. I'm hoping with the 235 Kuhmo's mounted next spring I can get some low 2.2's and hit a 14.3 stock.

What was the weather like and whats your altitude?

the weather was listed above. I'm not sur what the altitude on San antonio is and don't realyl know where to look.

and yes, the trap is a little low. I don't really know what was going on there. I was running aron the same most of the night.

Sorry, I'm an airhead and didnt even see that you posted the temp. :o

Maybe with some cooler temps you'll get a couple more mph. I went from high 94's with temps in the 70's & moderate humidity to mid/high 96's consistently when it was about 55* and low humidity. I don't know if the weather played the entire role or my car is just now broke in (1800 miles vs. 4500 miles).
