assuming good driver i would have to put my money on the accord 6 spd. stock they should run mid 14's..ive seen one dude run a 14.28 stock. i highly doubt a cl-s auto could achieve those times (stock of course).

the only way the cl is going to hang is if it has headers.

The 6speed would win obvious.....Dont be fooled on those v6 accords, they r just as fast if not damn near close to our cl's. My bro has v6 accord coup. auto but the car dips strong. I get impressed when I drive when switching from my 6speed cls.
I think better question would have been cls 6speed vs. 03 accord v6 6speed, stock & both being good drivers.

you're saying an auto CLS with headers will just 'keep up' w/ a stock AV6speed? I would think it would be able to beat it for sure w/ headers.

nope it will just hang, the stock auto vs 6speed is almost by a second. I doubt you would gain a second just by doing headers. Plus auto trannys eats up lot more power vs manual.

LOL are you KIDDING me? Did you just say that a stick cls vs auto cls (or stick av6 vs auto av6) is nearly a second in difference? Get your facts straight first.

stock vs stock?
AV6 6MT will win (assuming driver knows how to drive ).
There is a guy on v6p who ran 14.2 stock, usually they run 14.4-14.5.

Those 6MT Accords are damn fast, if damn ugly. However, not many people know how to drive a stick all too well... so it really does come down to the two drivers. If the Accord driver botches the launch, that's all the CL-S needs to win.

What kind of race are we talking about, from a stop or from highway speeds. I have raced one of my buddies in his AV6speed on the freeway from around 70 a couple of times and beat him, but he has beaten me as well. From a stop, if he launches it good there is nothing I can do, but take one on the chin

I have had good runs with 3-4 of these so far. Compared to the Cl-S, and I have CAI and headers with toyo t1s 235/45/17.

Each time the results were the same the Accord jumps ahead by a car up to the time I slam ssecond in the CL-S. Gate shifting this bites second VERY hard and jumps at least even by 5500rpm in 2nd The CLS continues to pull a least a car by 70mph and 3 cars until you hit fourth. Since 4th in the 5at cl is overdrive. You might as well give up to the V-6 at 115mph.

WIthout headers on the CL, the accord would be dead even from 50-100

The above is mostly because <2.861% of the drivers on the road can not drive like the magazine racers, who are pros.

Especially a stick.

I also have 4 years of experience with hard launches on the CL-S, gate shifting every shift since new......

doesn't the accord have similar overdrive gears as the cl-s? if it does, i don't see why it would have the advantage top end.

Drive any clsat and watch what happens when you hit 4th. It drops you in below vtec and at a bad point in the HP TQ curve

1-3 gears in the Accord are basically the same to the CLS, however 4th is different, but I believe 5th is the same.

VTEC engagement for the Accord is 4900rpm and going from 3rd to 4th I drop to about 4800revs.

The quickest 7th gen AUTO i have seen was a 2003 LX sedan that pulled a couple of 14.5's with an Intake. He is on V6performance.net as LXV6guy.

The Auto accords will run pretty much 15 flat in stock configuration. With induction systems and higher octane fuel (it helps us) the cars dip into the 14.6-14.8 range.

Wow! A CLS auto will not beat a 7th gen AV6 6-speed! Like most have said it would take a CLS auto with headers and intake to hang. Auto vs auto is a very good race and manny vs manny. Both times I would give the edge to the CLS but it would probably be 6-4 in 10 tries. Remember the accords have 240 horse vs. 260 on the CLS but the accord weighs about 200lbs less.

How did you get a 14.4 with only 95mph trap speed?? The slips I have seen from some members here are pulling 14.8's with that trap.....you must have had a killer launch (2.1's). (By the way not flaming you or saying you didnt get those times but damn dude, way to go! )

I don't know, it's been the general consensus from what I've seen CL-S's running that they are low 15 second cars (w/ few exceptions), i've seen a few 6 speed accords in the mid 14's

I know when I last went to the track w/ Mike and some of the SD Type S guys they were in the low 15's and he had intake and headers, and that was at Carlsbad which is generally a quick track.

As always, the car, track, weather and driver are always going to be a big factor in the performance of a vehicle. That and the fact that we are talking mere tenths of a second. I for one run at Indianapolis Raceway Park in Indianapolis Indiana. The weather for my runs does vary but my 14.8's have always been in rather average conditions. Sure, I've run my fare share of 14.9's, 15.0's, 15.1's but the conditions were all different and the condition of my car, ie weight in vehicle, gas, and break in miles have changed.

I typically cut 2.2-2.3 60-foot times with the automatic.

The J30A4 is the motor in the Accord and produces 240hp and 212lb/ft of torque on 87 octane fuel and (per honda's indication, but yet to be fully and accuratly proven) 250hp and 222lb/ft of torque on premium fuel.

The 6-speeds employ a dual-stage intake manifold, the Automatics do not. Likewise the redline on our motor is a touch lower than the J32's at 6,800 and the rev limit is set at 6,900rpm.

I was laughing at him pulling out the mag stats and trying to school me. If anyone is going to try and tell me that the same car, one with a 6spd, and the other being a 5spd auto is an ENTIRE second difference in the quarter mile, you can blow me. That's ludicrous, to say the least.

eh, I wouldn't be suprised if it was close to a second. Esp. considering these shitty power sucking trannies

I'd say .5-.7 may be accurate
