I think it is a good idea if they will fit since he is trading the car.

for some reason I remember back in the day someone saying no they wouldn't fit because the wheels will rub the caliper. Don't know if it was true or not.

Aren't CLP and CLS calipers the exact same part?

yes CLS's dont have bigger brakes than the CLP's, same size. ALTHOUGH THE CLS BRAKES SHOULD HAVE BEEN BIGGER

if the CL-P wheels fit its one choice. i'd look at the 16s from the 5th gen Accord V6. they're much cooler. you might also look at the 16s from the RSX. they're also very sweet.

But if he is trading the car it really does not matter as long as they fit.

Maybe the 16" CL-P rim is narrower than the CL-S rim?

The CL-P, Cl-S, TL-P, and TL-S wheels will all fit. Guys above are correct that all use the same rotor and calipers. Width varies but they will all fit.

Yes, the TL (non S) rims fit fine. I’ve run them with snows mounted on both my 2003 & 2001 CL-S.
I’m not sure about CL-P rims.
This topic comes up every once and a while and I don’t think we have a valid answer for it.
I think there is a dealer notice floating around somewhere that says you CAN’T do it.
Something about the center bore size being different or something like that.

I thought the offset of the CL-P wheels was different

yes, but I believe it was the offset of the wheels or something, it may of been what shawn said. I remember the same thing shawn said, the dealers specifically saying they wouldn't fit
