...to being able to purchase the new Navi DVD. The recorded message on the Acura DVD line is still the same, late November, so at most that is 29 days away.
This time they're going to have to produce; one more lie and bad things are gonna happen.

I drove my 8 year old to a soccer game yesterday and the flippin' road that the navi told me to go on was gone. There was a bike trail right over it and I had a bitch of a time getting around it. Then I followed the navi back out and programmed in a different route. Same result. FUTHER-MUCKERS!!! I WANT THE NEW DVD!!!
This is supposed to be the most complete and most likely the FINAL dvd version we'll all ever see in our 03s and earlier. I'm getting a good feeling on this one....I just hope my Navi will last for another year for me to enjoy it.

Maybe it's Navigation Systems causing the delay. They use people driving around in a car to do all the mapping and mapping updates.

if the new 04 cars or 03 MDX/TSX, etc. have the newest updates of maps, why does it take so long for the 01-03 CL/TL's to have the updates as well? I mean, the information is already collected since the 04's already have the damn updated maps...
it's just ridiculous and I'm betting that you'll never see the disc...and when you do, it won't be what you expected...that's how older technologies work--companies make them obselete by not supporting them...your sol!

This would be why I didn't spend $2k on navi .. in a few more years, the navi system will be like an 8-Track player - only as good as the aged media.

The roads don't disappear generally. You can still find your way around and the Navi pretty much will still prevents you from getting lost. As a Navigator Pilot, it's great.
Most of us are concerned about the Points of Interest. Hotels and restuarants and businesses are being built every week. Several years is much too long to go without a POI update.
I still like my Navi. If I drive out of town (Chicago, St. Louis) the maps on the Navi are perfect. I don't need all of the streets in those cities to be updated for me as a visitor, any ATM will do, etc.
I honestly think we will see an update in a week or two...or three.
So far no new updates.
Just curious if the new DVD's will be the same "type" as our current ones. I assume we will never have a cool dvd that looks like the G35/04 TL. That is pretty crappy! Did anyone ever hookup a DVD player to an 01-03 CLS Navigation system? I was considering but am unsure of what it all entails.
