Climate control questions

New to the Acura climate control setup coming from a VW with dials.. So when I press the Auto button, the AC comes on? Even thought the no AC sign on the display? I know of pressing the front windshield defroster, the AC will come on by default. I guess the entire time i've been running the AC since i've been using the the Auto mode? No wonder my gas mileage wasn't great the last week.

Yea thats how it works. So it can automatically adjust the temp on the cooler side if it needs too.

^no need, below 32F it will not turn on. Above 32F it turns on for defrosting purposes...

So if I don't want to start off with the AC on, it has to be manuallu turned off? Even if I have the temp at 75F? there's no way around it?

that's right. when you set the climate control to auto or FULL AUTO, the A/C engages and disengages as needed to keep the cabin the desired temp. Hence the term automatic climate control...

If you are worried about the A/C compressor being engaged when the car is started, don't be. It will not engage until after the engine has started and been running for a moment or two.

i find it hilarious how boggled are about such a little detail. when u hit auto... the car will uses everything at its discretion... if u hit auto.. then hit a/c u will see it'll say a/c off.

on another note if u are driving and dont want air coming through the vents. hit the recirculation button and no air will come through as u drive.... which is what i do in the winter before the car heats up
