Thumbs down Climate control mode f'd up

Hey all,

Did a search but didn't find much. Here is my problem:

1.) When I select the front defroster, the dash vents blast air but nothing comes from the front windshield vents.

2.) When I select the foot/leg vent mode, the dash vents come on. Nothing comes from the leg vents on the driver's side, very little air comes from the passenger side.

3.) Rear defroster works fine.

So, anyone have this problem? Anyone know what it could be?

I have to get my 60k service so I figure I will have the dealer check it out while it's there. Unfortunately, I don't have an extended warranty so it's gonna cost some bucks to fix.

Does it display 20 and lock up when it is set between 64-65? Cause there is one connection difference between the US and candian models I've had two go on the fritz on me, all controlls lock up restarting the car or a good thump to the control panel were the only things that corrected it besides the dealer replacing it, I don't know if it could be the same thing or not.

The only other thing I can think is that the actual motor that controls the position of the controls of the vents could be burnt out or dead.

Dealer said it was the air mode motor that busted. It was fixed under a one-time goodwill warranty.

Thank you Acura of Peabody!

I just noticed this same problem on my CL. Didnt notice till this week because havent really needed the front defrost and lower foot vents until it started getting cold again and early morning freezing weather in minnesota

Anyone know where this "air mode motor" is located? or how much would it be to fix?
Can a warrantee still be applied even thou I bought the car used and get this problem fixed for free? "one time goodwill warranty" lol

Thanks in advance for any help

Ill check out that housing when I got time, but anyone else had similar problems like this? Cant be the only ones which this problem.

Wonder if this is just an Acura issue. the CL-S has less then 60K and the freaking "mode motor" goes out. My accord EX had 140K any no problems whatsoever! lol
