Cleared the Headlights

Well not me exactly. I swung by Mr yesterday in NJ and in less then two hours he had these suckers down. Before i left getting the bumper off and lights out took some time considering it was my first attempt. So glad i took the time to get this mod done though.

Looks freakin awesome. Mr. did a fantastic job on the clearing. Anyone looking to get this done definitely drop him a PM. No fogging so far and he resealed it virtually like it came from the factory.

I replaced the turn signal bulbs with a pair of APC's Titanium Amber bulbs. Basically they look silver when in the housing however once lit they glow amber to keep them legal. As far as the marker lights below the turn signal's i replaced them with a pair of bulbs by Sylvania . Look a bit brighter then stock but all i was looking for was a clear pair of white lights.

Overall this mod was well worth it. Props to those who are able to clear yourselves. I went this way and i'm glad i did. Enjoy:

Looks cleaner w/o the clear diffuser IMO... at least, with the lights off. Post some night pics Chap!

Nice! Looks good!! Can you post some night-time pics please? I would like to do this to my car, especially after seeing your headlights-

Did Mr. use black silicone to seal the lamps?

If white/clear silicone is used, would the side of the housing look like this?? It's a TL w/ shiny chrome finished interior, but...

I have the APC Titan Amber bulbs both front and back. Did you also get them for the rear? You'll get rid of the "egg yoke" appearance if you have them in the back (pretty sure you know that already, but thought I'd mention it).

Chaptorial - Im glad that you love them. They came out awesome.

Thanks for the compliments guys. If anyone is interested they can either pass by one night during the week or on a weekend. It cost $150 for cleared and $200 for cleared and blacked out. If you are mailing them, you let me know how you want it mailed (overnight, ground, etc.) and pay the exact shipping cost.

Just PM me or email me at Mr_@yahoo.com

hey thats my car ... The shiny chrome on the sides is part of the headlight, not the silicone sealant. Chaptorial's lights come blacked out stock, so all he has done is remove the yellow reflector from the light housing. I guess the stock '03 CL-S lights don't have that chrome line on the side like mine do. You might be able to paint that part black though ... I'm not sure.

Mr. should be getting my headlights soon as well. I tried to clear my stock ones THREE times and they STILL leak like a mofo. so i said fuck it and bought a new pair of headlights and sent them to him.

Thanks for the compliments guys. I'll try and get some night shots up ASAP.

I decided to go without the diffusers b/c on the 03's the headlights are blacked out already and to me it looks much cleaner this way. 01's and 02's like Scooters look much better with the diffusers though.

Mr. answered the price questions and greyjhu yours will come out exactly like mine. I don't know what that chrome piece is on that TL but the rubber seal that is in between the headlight and the body panel is black and silicone never goes near it. Do this mod Grey you'll love it.

Also I was fortunate enough to take of my family's cars to drive the headlight housing over to Mr. . No way I was gonna drive without them in.

Was out all last night and no fogging to speak of. Still lookin good.

On the '03 CLs with stock blackouts its black like that but on the TLs without the blackout housing (I got mine blacked out, it didn't come stock like that), and on the '01-02 CLs the coloring is chrome there too...

Not sure if grey has a '03 or '02 CL, but it definitely makes the car look hot with the blackouts and the cleared lights. Yours looks great Chaptorial!

This link is a picture of a 2002 CL, and you can see the chrome/silverish coloring there.

I got mine done by a guy locally in Alexandria, VA if anyone wants to know how to get in touch with him just PM me.

Thanks for the info and link liqice. I never knew the 01-02 housing’s had that silver "seal" piece on the them. Glad they changed it for 03 along with blacking them out.
