Cleard & Black Housing Headlights - Finished!!

Well...the headlights came in from Mr_ about a week ago and I've been sittin on em since I've had finals and haven't had the proper tools to do the installaton. Did I forget to mention the Know How as well? ...

So, I decided to do the install w/ my Father last night, which was planned to take no more than an hour ( Dad!)...to make a long story short, it took us 3 hrs 45 min

Things were going well until we had to work with taking out the HIDs. Basically, we ended up stripping one of the holes that screws in the metal rod to hold down the actual bulb. This took us a good 45 mn of contemplating of wtf to do. We ended up being EXTREMELY lucky and found a screw just a TAD bit bigger to re-thred the hole and it worked perfectly. Then we ended up having problems bolting up the metal bracke that goes along the bottom part of the headlight. Needless to say, after hours of work, we finished. We checked the bulbs SEVERAL times to make sure everything worked before putting everything back on. By the time we put all the tools away and what not, I turned on the car and turned on the lights. The reflector bulb in the driver side headlight wasn't working? By this time it was 11:20pm and I still had a test and hw to study for and had to drive back to my other house. So, that's why I posted the other thread to see if there's any way to switch out the bulbs w/out taking off the bumper and unbolting the headlights. Anyways, I posted pics up on my yahoo photo album, so I will give you the link. Go to the folder that says 'Cleared & Smoked Headlights'. The first 2 pictures are the headlights I attempted first with leaving the corners chrome, but those are done for. So yeah. Anyways, if you can give me your honest input on how you think it looks, I'd appreciate it. I also would like to know which looks better: the passenger side headlight WITH the reflector bulb, or the driver side headlight w/OUT the reflector bulb?

Needless to say, I am extremely happy with the results. Dan (Mr_) is a great guy and very helpful. He did an awesome job on the headlights as well, or so I think! I believe I'm the only CL do have it all smoked? Or maybe not? I haven't seen any others with this set-up. Either way, enjoy!!

http://photos.yahoo.com/dem1k

Edit: Oh also, do you guys think I should either lighly smoke or completely smoke the road lamps as well?? I was thinking about this? Perhaps just a light tint?

Also, excuse my car's dirtyness, it's been weeks since she's been cleaned! I feel bad

Almost too dark, imo. I like the look of the stock 03's with no orange piece better. To me it gives the impression your car has a zoro eye mask on or something.

If you like it though thats cool, looks better than stock.

yeah, originally that's what Mr was going to do, but masking off the corners is tough, and the chrome peeled off. So we went this route. Plus, nobody has really done this, so it's different, you know? My headlights are now more...rare It's growing on me.

thanks bro

I actually have the APC ones in the turn signals already...I guess you can't tell, lol.

As for the wedge bulbs, all I could find were some APC LED bulbs....I actually think I'm going to leave the wedge bulbs out though.

Btw, how are the tein's working out????

wow, I think I'm gonna do that next, I like the way the blinkers are muted, and the custom paint looks sweet.

To take out those 3 screws that hold the bumper by the center grill.. You need a long and fat philips bit... Use a drill on high torque and the bolts come off... Put a lot of pressure on the drill so it doesnt strip the bolt.
