What cars does CL Type S smoke stock to stock? Type R? RSX? Accord V6? etc.
I want to know. Tell me some road kill stories if you like. I always love hearing them.

Actually.. everyone on here is a wise-ass! OK, not everyone, but there are a lot. Don't take it so personally... especially if it's followed up with a
or
or whatever!!
Anyway.... one bit of advise I'll give you is to not magazine race. Just b/c a mag says the CL-S is 0-60 in 6.3 seconds, doesn't mean it's always that fast. You may get smoked by something that you thought was slower... but then again you may smoke something you thought would beat you!!
Check out our Racing forum and you'll see what I mean. Welcome to the board!!

juniorbean the reason I ask...is because that 260hp stock has to count for something...I don't magazine race and I'm fully aware that there is always a faster car or better driver out there...that still doesn't mean I won't race you...
I'm was looking into taking the car to the drag strip and curious what this car would do against others. My search for a 6-speed Supra for a fair price has been unsuccessful. So my second choice was this car.
What does this car pull on a 1/4 mile stock? I know this car is luxurious yet sporty. Can this car handle the abuse these bigger sports cars can (rx-7, 300z, supra)?

Bring it to next autoX and we'll see about that.

In a straight line the CL will run away from the Si...
Toss in some twisty bits though (where the real skill comes in) and it's another game all together.
This is cool...I can talk smack about either car since I have both.

Just wondering, I got a friend with a 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT. He thinks hes all hard and he brags how fast his car is. It is completely stock. Can I smoke him easy?

the CLS is not a good car to autoX in, and i have experience in that. it can't take the really sharp turns too well

and i do have alot of experience on real roads..so try not to underestimate me.
even the sactown guys underestimated me and i proved them wrong

i prefer roads compared to autoX. i went to my last autoX a few weeks ago, which was Golden Gate Fields.

paul, come to the next CL bay area meet! check the club events section for the next one

PS. you don't post on ClubSI do you? (so i can ban you
j/k)
Aight MattG itz all good...hey the 14.32 time you have posted up...is that what you pulled at the drag strip? Is it stock or modded? I'm curious to know what time this car pulls on the 1/4 mile...
my car has intake, headers, exhaust and ur pulleys, yes those times were from the strip. stock auto cl-s usually run high 14's to 15 flat. although we have heard of a stock auto running a 14.6x(nitrotiger).

Nobody ever underestimated you, you just had to prove yourself!!
We don't just hand out respect like its government cheeze!!!!
You gots to EARN it!!!
Dragoon is a great driver in the twisties!!! I have seen pics of him AutoXing and I have seen posted times that he has run!! He knows what he is talking about!! The CL is a straight line car for the most part. If you take it through real world twisties, (like we do up in Sac
), then the car is AWESOME in the turns!!! With the proper mods of course!!! Its a luxury sedan, not a rice rocket!! The car is fast, but not Vette fast. If you race, you will win some, you will lose some!!
I'll leave the banzai runs on open roads to others. Driving quick on a nice stretch of road is fun and I enjoy that. But I won't drive flat out on the open road cause it's just not safe enough.
On the track, you can go FLAT out and not worry about bruising anything other than your ego.
That said, I do very well at the track in the little Si against guys with alot more power than my car...In my class it's all RSX Type S's and Celica GTS for the most part.
Check out the results...
http://www.sfrscca.org/solo2/Results...onship/n4.html
They haven't updated the points with the latest round...but I took that one too, so I'm now in first place with 2 events left to go.
And then there was the Enduro in Sacramento last year...
http://www.sfrscca.org/solo2/Sacrame...o2001.html#sts
So don't think I need to earn any respect, I've got the trophies to back it up.
I'll see if I can get the CL out to one of the meets sometime though. The headers go on next week.

I wasn't speaking to you about respect, I was talking to BOB!!!!
When and where are the last two events. If I have time, I might go watch.
LOVE to see ya at one of the meets!!! In your CL or the Ceebik!!!
No offense Taken at all...just giving people a reference point to judge me from...I of what I speak when it comes to speed.
Oh yeah...your avatar is quite...errr....ummmm...luscious. Yeah, that's a good word.
The last 2 events are going to be at Golden Gate Fields later this month.

i was in 3rd place for SM-N after the first two events this year, but my car was in the body shop so much on the weekends that i never got to run for months! i did the first two races this season (or the second two), got first on one event, second on the other, and went quite a few months till my last race which was two weeks ago. so i've only competed in 3 events this year due to the body shop stuff
although the CL outpowers the SI, the SI is smaller and more nimble on the autoX course, which is one reason i stopped racing on AutoX. i sure loved it alot tho because it was safe and exciting. but i prefer road courses more. I DID go to buttonwillow a few months ago! i did extreamly good going up against my friends. but my car couldn't handle it too long.
come out to the next bay area meet (check the events section). we can BS about racing events and whatnot.

and bring the CL, NOT your SI!!! i've seen enough SI's at all the CivicSIClub meets!
BTW, do you post on CSI at all? since you autoX then you probably know my buddies and their SI's at the events. my buddy brian drives a Jackson Racing Supercharged SI and competes in Street Mod.

Well, usually the courses at 3-com are much closer to 65 seconds than 90.
Yeah I know Brian and Todd (drives a VW 337 this week) very well. I got Todd his job at Excite@Home way back when.
GGF is hard on tires, but it's also a place that rewards driving smoothly. Get it right out there and you are quick...get it wrong and it sucks to be you.
I'm not too worried about the tires...they are the set for racing anyways.
Oh, and I'll be taking the CL out there once in the slush season just for kicks.
