CL/TL lip kit conversion questions

I've been looking for a nice body or lip kit but cant seem to find one. I like the ronjon lip kit but its a little to ricer looking and thats not what i'm looking for. So I've decided to go with the TL lip kit but I was wondering how much the body work should cost to make it fit because I live in NJ and the body shops around here are all scammers and they'll try to rape me. So since a lot of people on here have had this done I was wondering if you guys could give me a rough estimate for the TL lip kit conversion. Thanks in advance

I'm not worried about the price of the lip kit what I'm trying to find out is how much the labor was to modify the kit to make it fit and painting it.

I have yet to see anyone post a bodyshop price and if they did i would expect it to be more than listed. Most shops charge 75-100 per hour and they usually look up estimate times in the computer. Since this would be full custom and first time doing it, it would be hard to estimate and that might turn alot of shops off from doing it. If they do just go by hourly labor charges then it could get really high. I think the tl lip kit thread the op said he spent over 300 hours on this. No bodyshop is gonna spend even half that time. I can see a shop giving an estimate and it taking longer than expected so they might end up working for free to finish it.

i've been working on mine for about 2 months....after work/weekends. I'll be finishing it monday if it doesn't rain. i would try it yourself....having a shop do it would cost a ton.

Ya I'm not to experienced in body work. I've made a couple fiberglass speaker boxes but thats about it and I dont know how confident I feel about cutting up a lip kit and trying to make it fit. Plus I dont want it to look like shit especially if I invested a ton of hours in it.

I had no experience at all either. There are some really good threads here and if you just take your time, it'll be fine.....and use the right materials.

its really hard to get the 99-01 lip almost impossible to find. The 02-03 is a little easier but still might be hard. Only 1 I found was the WW lip for the TL online. Best bet for the other 2 would be a wrecked car.

I think that west wings front lip looks good but then you have to find sides and a rear still, running front lip only is tacky..

Are you using the WW sides? I like the WW rear over stock because of the exhaust cut outs. But the sides are

is it a fiberglass knock-off. i would stick with polyurathane oem stuff. Fiberglass will crack when you scrape your front lip which is easy to do if car is lowered.
