i came to this board to see if most of the CL-S owners think like this. Some guy with a black CL-S gets on my a$$, then moves to the left lane, rides side by side by with me. keeps looking at me. so i roll my window down, the guy just points to the coming light..it was about 2am, so there was hardly anybody on the street. we slow down hoping the light turns red. and it did. i guess i was about to see what 260hp of vtec can do. revved up my WRX to about 4k, light turned green left that foo behind about 6 car lengths. wow those HID's sure look good from far away, especially if he see can the back of my car which says S-U-B-A-R-U...the lesson is, if u race a car, make sure u know the specs. 227hp AWD turbo

a modded cl-s could give the stock WRX a very good run:P

 

stock 4 now. haven't brought my car to the track yet. Magazines list it as low to mid 14's

My cousin has a 5sp wagon. I race him all the time. If he gets a good launch I only lose by 1/2 - 3/4 a carlength. But most of the times he doesn't launch great and I beat him by like a car length, sometimes two.

I heard (read) because of all the bad press the wrx has gotton on how god awful ugly it is, they are dumping a lot of money to change the looks both interior and exterior..

Wait till the Evo hits the streets..doubt we'll hear of the subaru much after it hits our shores.

speaking of interiors....yours are plain and ugly too...whats up with fake wood grain and on the black leather ones that black stone design.. guages light up like someone is shining a flashlight behind the gauges...u just basicly paid for the engine

I don't like picking on other people's cars unless provoked. I don't own a Subaru or Acura (hint 6 speed VQ). I see a guy with a black WRX in my neighbour hood. When we are on the road we drive somewhat fast but we don't bother each other much. People who knows cars respect other peoples' rides. The WRX would be much nicer if they put the engine in the previous body with square lights and the pretty butts. When I went to the dealer for a look the lady wasn't too keen to let us take it for a spin. In fact, a friend of mine said one has to order one before test driving. No sunroof and blah interior caused us to walk out.
I prefer roominess and luxury a bit more than pure performance.

 

Dont be mad cuz you bought an ooooogly car you bought it for the perormance and that is what you got.

If you would ever like to race look me up..Ive got plenty of other means of transportation that will leave your subaru (yuck leaves nasty taste in my mouth) waaaaaaay back.

good thing you saved money...doubt you can do much for the interior or exterior with money though. Hell you bought the car so your taste is questionable.

by the way mid 14's are not something to jump up and down about..imho my buddies LT1 ran a 13.1 at the track the other day and its N/A..sure ugly interior and I dont care for the wedge design but then again I feel the same way about the wrx.

Ive got a 2.2L N/A 4banger in the garage that pulls high 12's on slicks.

details on your races!

I test drove wrx a couple of weeks ago. It only had 65 miles on the clock. I didn't launch it hard but did a couple of punchs from ~30 and up. It pulls best in 3rd but IMO my CLS will walk away from it on a rolling start. The handling was great even in stock trim! I merged from one fwy to another and was doing 80+ as I entered the fwy. The tires were protesting a little but it was very stable and I felt comfortable in the car at that speed. Great bang for the buck. The sedan is ugly as sin but the wagon looks ok. The interior is pretty sparse and has too much plastic for my taste.

 

Look man you should know something about the import scene we all buy cars to customize because thats how you earn respect and that is the fun part, we all dont go out and buy ugly rice wanna be rockets(wrx) and go around boards like little kids and say yeah my car is fast, dude you got the whole import scene wrong. And by they way please act more mature, cause your attitude will get you no where!!!

 

u guys are funny...i personally don't think this guy was all snotty when he came on here. he just had a problem with one cl-s owner and that was it. i read this board reguarly and i always see you guys talking about giving other cars a reality check and that's what he did to one particular cl-s.

and besides the wrx should be faster stock for stock from a standing start only. from a roll most of the advantages of the awd are gone.

on the track a wrx was .2 faster than me in the 1/4, but at freeway speeds, i'll pull on a wrx.

My mother-in-law has a StooK. Nice ride, but no TORQUE! The engine feels buzzy, and it feels slower than the CLS. Sweet 6-speed, but I would love to feel some nice torque in the StooK.

And yeah - play nice or I'll close it too.

 

totally agree about the torque. I miss torque. It does feel slower (at least until 3rd gear) but the numbers don't reflect this. I ran a 14.8 in my CL vs a one time best of 13.87@102 in the S2000. I average around a 14 flat in the S2k. Engine feels buzzy. TOTALLY agree, this is without a doubt the buzziest engine I've ever driven. even more so than my old teg. It's pretty quick though, and it's just a blast to drive. I'm hoping to fix the torque problem this summer with a Vortech or MG supercharger. I miss my CL sometimes though. It was a sweet ride.

Seems like you want to get personal so I figure I'll give you all the facts. I am 22 and far from bald. They aren't 19's fuckface they're 17 inch Mugen MF-10s. Sorry but the car is at stock height. Just looks lower cause you're used to your 4x4. I traded my USED CL-S for it. Straight up even swap so I'm guessing that since I paid 28k for my CL when new, the S2000 came in somewhere less than 30k. All I have performance wise is a V-AFC. As far as launching goes, My best is a 13.87@102. I like WRXs and have no problem admitting that a modded WRX can easily beat that time but you my stupid little friend are talking about a STOCK WRX. I will walk you buddy. Oh and lets go to a real race track. You know...the ones where you have to turn. BTW I used to have a sugar momma. then your old lady ran out of money so I put her to the curb Once again, you are stupid and way out of your league here. Fly away child. Fly far far away.

 

that has a super pimp s2000 - bout the only thing he's missing is a SC........that's what he wanted for x-mas. Anyways his car was picked for a calendar 0OoOOooo00 I know.. but his car looks tight. I will email you pick if you like.
