The other day i was leaving the gas station when all a sudden i saw a ford taurus SHO, which was lowered,exhaust, tach and etc. Anyways, i get right behind him. He eventually gets in the other lane and makes room for me to get beside him, you could see the smiles on their faces.
Were going about 40 mph roll and his friend in the passenger seat drops his hands. In second gear, i instantly pull on him, im about 2 cars lengths ahead. Looking in the rear veiw mirror, you can see his buddy and him were trying to figure out what kinda car i had.
Well anyways, we pull up at the stop light and the driver does the head nod (meaning pretty descent ,I wasnt expecting that). I just laughed. Anyways, when the light turned green we were side by side for 1st gear with me a little ahead, and then i just walked him about 3+ car lengths. All in all, it was a fun comparison.

 

I didn't know there were still any SHO's on the road. That puppy's got tired legs.......probably pushing 150k.

 

What's a Taurus SHO? Never heard of it.

 

early high performance taurus. SHO -Super High Output. It had a pretty potent v6 for its time.

89-95 = 220hp V6 (DOHC 3.0 w/5speed, 3.2L w/auto) The engines were built by Yamaha

96-99 - 235hp V8, automatic only. Top end was Yamaha, bottom endwas Ford.

 

yea but over the years the engine doesnt perform the same when it was newer.. so those numbers could be less now...
