CL-S vs ASTON MARTIN DB9

Trust me this is no contest...just a fun little freeway story. I was on 270 loop around Columbus heading towards Dublin for you familiar with the area. See a nice sports car ahead and I'm already in the fast lane cruising about 80. I get up diagnal from him and notice its a Aston Martin DB9...pretty rare around hick country Ohio... He sees me and gets in front of me in the fast lane and gets on it...so I try to just follow him. I don't know if he was even fully on it...but he was pulling on me like no other. ...btw..I think he was running a little rich..because his car stunk horribly when ever he got on it..He would slow down to like 70...then get on it again and get on it again and again and just pull hard....makes me feel like shit...but what do you expect my car compared to a 170K car. He finally slows down and gets on the offramp for Dublin and I look over and its an old guy (of course) probably around 65 yrs old...just smiling ear to ear. I just smile back and go on my way.
Add this car to the long list of not to f*ck with cars..with the cl-s...ha ha.
6.0L V12 450hp...not too shabby.

Nice. It's always fun racing sick cars even when you know you don't stand a chance. I recently ran on the highway with a ridiculous Neon SRT-4 that sounded like it had a turbo and no exhaust whatsoever. Definitely a drag car. No Aston Martin but still a fun race with a car that kicked my ass.

Props for giving it a try though!

I'd love to see if he'd still smile after the Caddy showed him some taillights...

I have a video on my old cell phone of a Black DB9 passing me on a state highway around here. I could tell he stepped on it a bit, I was accelerating in 3rd gear at around 40 and he was pulling car lengths on me. Those things sound great.

What proves the CL to be a respectable car is that people in cars like this often feel they have to show us what their car can do. Fine by me, I love competitive people...

I would have loved to have had your car at the time...CTS-V would have probably took him or at least kept up.

How heavy are DB9'S?

found the answer to my own question...3750-3900 lb depending on tranny.
and a mag racing 1/4 mile time...not sure how accurate but gives us an idea...
R&T "zero to 60 in 4.8 seconds and on to 13.2 sec. and 110.0 mph for the standing quarter mile."

wow....he would have def. :surrender to you Seattle Cl-S. Damn now I want a CTS-V....or at least a nice modded vette ha ha.

yes im not dumb...but stock turbod SRT-4's don't sound like this turbo did nor have a loud ass blow off valve.

I can't wait to see what Caddy puts under the hood of their new CTS when they come out with the V.

I heard it'll be anywhere from 500 to 600hp...compliments of a turbine jet engine.
