CL-S vs. 6-speed Accord
from 70, twice. Headed down the freeway and fucker is riding my ass bad. Pull over in the right lane, he pulls next to me and its on. All the way throgh third we were even, then i hit fourth and he starting pulling on me both times. Still had paper plates, so i assume he had no mods. Would have liked to run him from a stop, but oh well. Sucks to get beaten by our honda cousins.

though ive never run one, i would think you should of taken him.
you definately have the power advantage as long as he is stock. i understand why you lost in 4th though!
good runs nonetheless, the new accords have a pretty solid engine!

still a Masshole
CLS6 can hang. remember us autos modded (headers/intake or icebox/exhaust) are only as fast as stock 6-speeders in most cases. The accord is slightly lighter than the CLS/TLS. I think the CLS6 is slighty faster than an AV6-6 but not by a whole lot.

AV6-6MT
1st - 3.933:1
2nd - 2.487:1
3rd - 1.700:1
4th - 1.250:1
5th - .976:1
6th - .771:1
So, CLS-6MT will be a better match despite the weight disadvantage but .2 L advantage and longer gear I think.

The seats in the Accord feel like boards. CLS seats are so body conforming and comfortable.

Dang fellow dumbass Accord. Pisses me off that he rides your ass then races his probably not broken in car.
Makes me ashamed.
I think once you went into 4th you were a goner since most CL-S auto guys have told me that 4th and 5th are overdrive gears. More for economy unfortunately.

i really hate the interior of the 7g accord...it took me 10 minutes to parallel park my brothers g/f's car yesterday because of the blind spots. i couldnt see how far i was from the curb or how much room i had and when i got out these 2 old fat asses were laughing at me because i was still like 3 ft. from the sidewalk. and the brakes on that thing are wayyy too sensitive, everytime i tapped the things the car would lurch foward or backwards if i was in reverse making me look like ive never driven a car. ill never drive one again :o

I have a bone stock CL-S 6sp. Are you saying a stock 04 Accord Coupe 6sp can keep up with a stock 03 CL-S 6sp?
I know the Accord is slightly lighter, but the CL-S 6sp has more HP and torque so why wouldn't we be able to beat them from a stand still or a roll?

The 150 lb weight difference is less noticeable as the speeds climb. This is one reason why theoretically the CL-S should trap slightly higher. Add in headers which are irrelevant to the AV6 and there is a marked difference.

On average a stock CL-S6 will, if launched properly, run better times than the 5AT counterpart. It is inevitable as there is a weight difference, more power being put to the ground and better gearing. However, with this better gearing also comes more difficult launches. So the possibility of botching a launch increases.

how much quicker exactly is the CLS6 than a CLS auto? Both in 0-60 & 1/4 mile times, and also how many car lengths? I am REALLY curious about this just so I know how much quicker the 6speed is than me

Nice death. Good to know. Considering that there is no more CL-S (or CL for that matter) it is nice to know that the next gen coupe (Accord coupe) is up to the task. I assme that on the Accord site there are G35 and 350Z kills? Would make sense.
I'd like to tango with one even though I might lose even with I/H. Amazing how the Accord name raises bad feelings. What am I saying...not surprising.
to them. We all think of the OLD Accord...it has graduated. I see very few 6-sp Accords out there and sometimes I wonder if the others just buy the wheels. I have only ever played with a last gen coupe with mods (but red windsheild wipers so that tells you something...it at least had exhaust) and it was a sweet win and a mad Accord afterward. That was before my intake too.

You'd think that the 20hp diff between the Accord and the CL-S would have more of an impact on the times
Plus, we have the limited slip, that should help with the launch right???

only thing i like more about the accord's interior would have to be the center console..it's a lot higher and easily accessible compared to the cl-s..but thats the only thing...their shifter is ugly..their seats arent as nice as ours..etc etc

ASSuming drivers skills are good G35 6MT both sedan and coupe will beat AV6 6MT.
Heck, my body's G35 auto sedan stock which is underrated and showed ~ 268hp/268tq (manual sedans show higher numbers) beat AV6 6MT (stock) by 1.5 car several times. 350z 6MT geared even more towards performance so Accord is no match in stock form.
Now, he also owns a s/c 02 Accord V6 and with upcoming internals and other goodies he will smoke any G35s and 350z even with basic mods

Here is the article quote from people of vtec.net who did dyno in the same place Steve, you do your s/c CLS-6
![Wink](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
... the J30A4 is a beast. It belted out 217 hp and 195 lbs-ft of torque at the wheels. And this engine is only rated at 240 hp/212 lbs-ft at the flywheel! Of course, we did use premium gas to extract the most possible power and the J30A4 rewarded us with a surplus. By comparison, last year's CL-S 6-spd pumped out 218 hp and 201 lbs-ft (also on a Dynojet) from its J32A2 engine. We felt that the J32A2 was pretty accurately rated at 260 hp/232 lbs-ft at the flywheel. If this is the case, that would make the Accord a 260 hp/225-230 lbs-ft engine. Not bad for 3 liters, SOHC and the "economy" form of VTEC[/b]

Who's your buddy with the s/c Accord and does he post at www.v6p.net?
I can't believe TOV said that the new Accord has VTEC-E cams. It doesn't. It might have not iVTEC nor DOHC VTEC so it might not be as an aggressive cam setup, but it's not the lame VTEC-E that my car once had.
