CL-s Supercharged from dealer no warranty good idea???
undefinedHey guys i'm new here as i have a 98 honda accord right now and tired of second hand performance Theres a dealershio next to me on the east coast that has a CL-S 6 speed no navi 23k miles for $25k. The thing is that it has a supercharger installed by Acura b4 it left the lot, but becouse of that they cant warranty it at all!!!. So the question is should i take the chance with the SC and no warranty? I figure bumper to bumper warranty would be till 62k miles and drive train till 100k. Do you think anything major can happen b4 62k? or the engine or tranny will go b4 100k? Thanks for your guys help hope to join the club soon

In other words, if the wind shield wiper motor failed it should be under warranty as the SC has no relationship whatsoever to the wiper motor.

If powertrain warranty includes transmission, then you'll be hosed when you need a new one. It's not really a question of if, but more a question of when. =)

He shouldn't ever need a new one. It's a 6 speed.
The tranny should be fine as long as he can drive a stick.

The biggest problem with the CL’s in general is the trannys on the 5-speed Auto's. However since this is a 6-spd version your in the clear.
The other only problems that arise with the CL at a more frequent rate then anything else are the rotors being warped and the cars actuator going out. Both of these universal to the Auto and Manual CL's.
In the end if this was an automatic CL in question I’d be very hesitant to say buy one with a S/C that isn’t “covered” under warranty. However considering its a 6-speed i'd say you should be OK.
Also considering you're in NJ Park Ave Acura may be able to work with you in certain areas considering they are a very "mod" friendly dealership.
