CL-S NGK plug installation

Any veteran members out there have advice on spark plug replacement? I've got 87k on my '01 CL-S and think it's about time to change- The OEM plugs are still in there. I just got the NGK Iridium plugs and was wondering if the installation process is tedius.

Does the electronic ignition cause any complications with the replacement? Are there any "special" tools required? My old '91 Nissan NX required a gigantic socket extension due to the plugs being so far down.

Any advice is appreciated. The back set looks pretty hard to get too.-

Just make sure you torque them to spec.

Let us know if you feel a difference after swapping them. I've got 65k on mine (also SMR, nice choice!) but mine still runs quite smooth.

Did you get your plugs from the dealer?

The front 3 are easy. The rears are another story. I removed the bracket holding the throttle cable on rear to access the two toward the passenger side. Took a while to figure it out but after that it was easy. Just need allen key, socket extension, and a toque wrench.

blk- I bought the plugs from sparkplugs.com. The dealer wanted $25/plug and I got (what I believe are) the upgraded plugs for $6.95/plug.

scoundrel- Thanks for the advice, that's what I was looking for.

Great job doing it yourself! Yeah I've heard the back three are really hard to access. Anyone know if you need to remove the blower to change the front plugs on a S/Ced CL? Any instructions? Also remember those iridium plugs have a life of 30K not 100K like the stock platinum plugs. What degree did you go with? 20 or 22?

which series did you get?

remember there are huge differences in which plugs you get.

Gap, spray pattern, timing on release.

Alot of people have a misconception about plugs and buy racing plugs for street applications. This is one component for your car that has to be specific for how you are using it. just be sure.

I got the ZFR6FIX-11. I don't have any work done to my car, it's all stock. I read on the CL FAQ that these were the plugs to get. Will I be hurting my performance with these plugs since my ride's all stock? Opinions are appreciated. Maybe I should Ebay them and buy the PLatinums?

<edit> Oh, for clarification these are the NGK Iridium plugs. I've asked quite a few mechanis about the iridium and they don't seem to have any information.
