Yup, stock '06s are packing 298hp...

The front skirt really makes it look sweet, I thought that was the ugliest part of the car as stock.

You serious?

Boost a Civic and you'll probably beat a CL-S too.

I like the G coupe exterior styling a lot, but the interior is low rent. If you could blend the body of the G with the refinement, features, and reliability of the CLS, I'd want one.

I think the G35 is Played out! Too many drivers out there. Come to realize I used to like the look of the car, but the rear looks "ugh" as I am looking at it again with the spoiler.

But, Its selling well and still liked by a lot of people. SO I am the minority.

i think it looks great...but i don't understand when people say a car is "played out"..its played out because a lot of people buy it? thats dumb..i guess that means every other popular car out there is played out..the only reason our car isnt played out is because it didnt sell well..but thats not really a complimentary point. that being said...i think the G has a lot more potential to mod aesthetically than the cl-s does. there are several things about the G that i wish we could do to our cars i.e. lower offset, staggered fitment, lip kit, bumper replacement, etc.

If I could have afforded it I would have bought a G35 over the CLS, even though I like the interior better on my CLS, The G35 is a badass car!!!

I would have to agree too. If I could afford it, I would grab one. They have some decent mods to fix the weak points on body style and boost an already potent engine.

G35C is pretty sweet. I had a CLS and then went for a G35. If the CLS 6MT had been available when I bought the first CLS, then maybe I would have stuck around. By the time I got my G35, CLS was already discontinued. Interesting though that the 06's are not any faster than the 03's.

From what I've read the G35 is quite a reliable car. Re-sale on it is quite good too. More than I can say for my CL-S.

so damned true.
you can look at the 2003 CL-S and G35 (both sedan and coupe) side by side and see that despite the Infiniti has a greater resale value despite the CL being more rare. so don't look bummed out after looking forward to seeing your CL become a collector's item or increase in value. \

oh, and Nissan rocks!

To reply to your comment Robe,

When people say, its played out! It means its played out. The CL-S to some are played out too. It means its out of date, old now, time for something new. You are correct every other popular car will at some time be played out too in time.

Its an individual preference in liking a car and continuously liking it through time. I do agree also with the majority, the g35 was and is hot to many.

I just think that the design and the look is getting tiring, same as the 350Z both are continuing their look with no new changes (But changing in 2007). But, that is a marketing strategy and a whole new topic.

The honda accord is a top seller, i have a feeling it will never get "played out". I think the term is more applicable to extreme fads (i.e. Vanilla Ice who has the #1 selling rap album of all time?!?!?!)

There will never be a solution to this argument, it all comes down to opinion, CL-s is dope, and so is the G35c!

ummm..ok the g35 is one of the nicest coupes out there....i love my cl but thre is no way i would compare it to the g35, that car is sweet, acura hasnt made a coupe that i like since are car and dont show any signs of makin another soon, i would sell my car in a sec for that car...did you see the 2007 concept that thing is hot..not tryin to bash on the acuras like i said i love my car but acura is got to step up there game if they want to compete with the g35, if acura came out with a coupe to compete with the g35 i would probly go for the acura but they have not shown any sign of producing one..

I've driven tons of Infinitis and quite a few Nissans... G35... Q45... 350Z. Top tier Japanese brands are Honda/Acura and Toyota/Lexus then Nissan/Infiniti then Subaru then the rest.

The CL does have crappy resale value but this is probably because it was discontinued. The transmission issues didn't help but overall quality is still better than with Nissan.

Nissan products, from my experience, are plasticky and fit and finish and NHV not as good as Honda/Toyota. However the new M35 and M45 seem much closer in quality. Also, the gearshifts on those Nissan/Infiniti cars is notchy and not nearly as good as any Honda/Acura product.

_______________

So u work for acura?

Ur comparing ur CLS with M45??
CLS never had good resale value ever since day 1...
and dont even get me started on the built quality of CLS.....
CLS is a great car (that s y i bought 1) but its bulit quality is not benchmark
CLS made in OHIO..
G35 Made in Japan...

Japan > OHIO

i dont know about other NISSAN... but INFINITI's fit and finish is just as good as ACURA if not BETTER!

no car is perfect but would u rather have a fukedup tranny or a notchy gearSHifter??

no doubt their fit and finish is on par with acura's, not to mention their solid reliability from what members say..however i think we're talking about the actual DESIGN of the interior..which most would agree is subpar of the cl's.

I have never had any issues with my CL. No rattles, no mechanical issues. Nothing. So, at least for my car, I see no quality issues. And the MDX is made in Canada and I don't see any quality issues with that.

And I bought my CL because it did have a nice trunk for road trips and a big enough backseat for passengers if I needed to carry friends. And I could get stick shift. It was an anomoly I admit but I didn't want a sedan. Aside from the FWD it's the perfect car for me.

Design of the interior is not as good as Honda/Acura I think. But there also is a cheapness to how the interior feels when you push a button or close the door.

And I knew the CL was soft when I bought mine which is why I didn't buy it new.

Yes I work for Acura.

I never said the G35 wasn't fast.

Nissan makes great cars, but there quality of leather, plastics and various other parts are no where near the quality of what Honda uses.

I have some buddies that have went the G35 route after there CLS/TLS and they love most everything about them. But they have always told me the Acura was a better built car.

I dont see how you say that the CLS is not benchmark build quailty. Other than a tranny issues for some and a rattle from the sunroof there have been very few issues brought up that a mass has had to deal with.

My family and I have owned many cars, which include some from the Nissan family, Toyota family and many german cars. All were great cars but the nissan family is a bit behind in quailty materials within the car compared to honda/toyota boys.

I like many wished the CL was 6spd and rear wheel drive. But I will live with the front drive issue and tranny issue(never had one knock on wood) just because it is more partical than the G35. I need room for golf clubs and friends when I dont want to drive the 4 door.

And far as trannies go I still have my 99TL with 153,xxx on 1st tranny
my cousin has my 88 Legend with 238,xxx miles on her on 1st tranny

but to each is there own.

hmmm

i was looking at both cars earlier this month. i love both cars. but hands down the g35 out performs the cl in every way. but i ended up getting a 03 cls 6speed. i figured im not gonna be tracking my car and wanted a comfortable high speed cruiser(u could always put mods to make it faster neway). i really loved the interior atmosphere of the cls..its got much more room then a g35 and its more reliable. but if u really feel like u need the performance the g35 offers then go for it! its meaner and faster and more agile..rwd too.

Well looks at the specs of the G35 coupe ..bigger motor and dohc ...i would expect that to be faster than the CL-S......also its more of a modern car so I would probably expect it to look better also.

But then look at the m3, smaller motor...about 1 sec faster in the quarter mile and more hp...The G35 looks nice however I wouldn't purchase it.

Speaking of the car for sale, I have seen it before in the area. Looks very nice and clean! Perfect condition from the few times I haves seen it on the road.

I would love to own a G35C. I like my CL, but that car rocks. I test drove one last year, and other than the crappy interior, it was a great car.

And like most others said....Nissans Rock. I have a Maxima with about 180K on it that will agree with me.

Just from what I read, the 0-60 times are pretty much identical at 5.4-5.6. Quarter mile times I don't know. I autocross mine so speed isn't that important. It is MUCH better balanced though. CL-S was too nose heavy. But hey, I don't want to beat on anyone's cars. I drove the CL-S for 3 years and loved every minute of it. I enjoyed the V-TEC howl whenever I could hear it. G35 has no kick like that.
